Today marks the start of #DisarmamentWeek. This year the theme is Promoting Global Peace and Security, emphasizing the importance of disarmament in achieving global peace and security. According to the 2023 Explosive Violence Monitor report by Action on Armed Violence (AOAV), 2023 saw the highest levels of recorded harm to children from explosive weapons since 2017. At least 2,571 children were reported among the civilian casualties, a 124% increase compared to 1,146 in 2022, and 90% of all those reported killed and injured by explosive weapons in towns and cities were civilians" (and we know that children frequently bear the brunt of the damage). I started out this business following the knowledge that some people are more malevolent than others, thankfully I still hold onto the belief that the vast majority of people are good however, 58% of #housekeepers working in the #hospitality industry encounter harassment and violence at work. HaloSOS we are here to help prevent that from happening in the first place and if it does to reduce the impact, which we have done so successfully in the past #rippleofeffect.
