🌟 Supporting youth mental health on the Sunshine Coast   We’re thrilled to announce that headspace Caloundra is now open, providing young people aged 12 to 25 with much-needed support for mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, and work and study assistance.   This milestone is a testament to the collaboration between the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, Country to Coast, QLD, Lives Lived Well, and headspace. 🚀 Empowering Communities Through Research: The East Sussex Wellbeing & Employment (ESWE) Service Evaluation Delighted to share the findings of our latest evaluation on the ESWE service, a pioneering initiative tackling the growing homelessness crisis in the UK. Since its launch in 2021, ESWE has provided tailored support to individuals at risk, helping to improve mental and physical health, reduce social isolation, and boost employability. 💡 What Makes This Service Stand Out? 👉 Co-Location for Success: Wellbeing coordinators working alongside housing officers created a seamless delivery model that truly meets people where they are. 👉 Significant Impact: ESWE has demonstrated improvements in health, social connections, and employment outcomes for vulnerable individuals. 👉 Value for Money: The service is not only effective but also economically sustainable—delivering meaningful results for its investment. 💬 The Secret to Success: Public Involvement and Implementation Science Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) ensured the research was driven by the needs and voices of those it aimed to support. From shaping the questions to co-designing the solutions, PPI made the evaluation both relevant and impactful. Implementation Science provided a framework to assess what works, why it works, and how we can replicate success. SANE is delighted to announce a new partnership with Wellmob, the national digital resource hub supporting frontline Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing workers. The collaboration aims to facilitate the development of culturally safe and governed online wellbeing spaces for First Nations health workers. WellMob is also joining SANE’s Indigenous Governance Group to guide the creation of Indigenous-specific spaces on SANE’s digital platform.   Nathan Deaves, SANE’s Manager for Social & Emotional Wellbeing Strategy and Partnerships, emphasised that this partnership acknowledges the expertise of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in determining what works best for their own wellbeing.   “This partnership recognizes the increasing need for safe digital spaces, particularly in light of the ongoing impacts of the recent Referendum on the wellbeing of the Indigenous community,” Deaves said. “SANE’s established digital mental health platform will enable us to develop culturally tailored and governed programs to meet this demand.”   We welcome First Nations Peoples to visit saneforums.org to sign up, test The Yarning Space, engage in discussions and provide feedback ahead of its launch in early 2025.
