Its sad that too many sales people that I speak to aren't having fun in their roles. After all, this is "just a job". Here is how I do my best to bring the fun - 1. This comes down to me. If I’m not having fun, how can I expect my team to have fun? 2. I can’t “assign” this. I simply can’t put someone in charge of being the fun police. 3. It doesn’t mean “money” or spiffs. Fun is about culture, not rewards. 4. Fun is about the small wins. Praise people for their work, shout out what is happening. Don’t wait for a completed docusign to celebrate. 5. It’s about intrinsic motivation. Find what drives people internally and not through risk/reward. People want to be challenged and grow! 6. Things will get hard at times, but don’t dwell on them. Like my favorite artist says, “shake it off” At the end of the day. We are all working jobs. Life is more important. Have some damn fun.

Most of people working at Chili Piper started as SDRs. Your AEs doing Demos of the platform are former SDRs, your AMs are former SDRs, CSMs are former SDRs.. not 100% but still .. and so on and so forth, SDRs in all departments. It means that we all get that PAIN of scheduling meetings, pre-qualification, no shows, reschedule, reassigning meetings, CRM update.. When I heard this during a working session today : "When reps schedule a meeting, they still need to create an opportunity in Salesforce to get the credit" 😑 😑 😑 😑 😑 😑 😑 😑 Buying a scheduling solution is cool, but getting one that can make your team's life easier is motivating 🌶 Selling a scheduling tool is Cool, but selling a solution that helps reps get their quota is energizing 🔥 Thinking that my work helps reps to get better results makes me feel I am useful ❤️

Celebrating #iwd2024 at UserEvidence, and wanted to spotlight the 3 most recent promotions at our company- 3 amazing woman making moves on our sales team: 1) Amanda Newman - promoted to SDR Manager - Amanda comes from a teaching background (unsurprisingly teachers make great SDR coaches), and has propelled our 10-person SDR team to great results in a very challenging prospecting environment for SDRs. The biggest strength of Amanda's team - creativity. Humans still have it over AI on creativity, and Amanda finds a way to help SDRs bring their unique and colorful personalities to their outreach. As an example, Amanda used her art background during the interview process and drew fun cartoons for her follow-up (picture in comments). 2) Madeleine Hurlbut - promoted to AE Manager - Madeleine was our first SDR, then first AE, and now first AE manager. An accomplished backcountry skier - Madeleine guides the AE team with the same preparation, support and tactician-mindset of a backcountry ski guide. She's closed some of our largest deals as an AE, and is now coaching and training the next generation of new AEs here. 3) Maggie Wise - promoted to Strategic Accounts Development - Maggie has been our top SDR for several quarters, and tackles any project we throw her way. Our most important GTM focus area this year is large enterprise accounts, so we threw Maggie at it to figure out the plan and playbook from scratch and crack into F1000 accounts. In less than a month, she created opportunities with Verizon, SAP, Broadcom, Thomson Reuters, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Autodesk. Incredible value creation in a such a short time frame. Like most companies, we still have a ton of work to do to foster a more diverse culture and team, so this post is not at all to say we're where we need to be, but it is cool to celebrate the women leading the charge for us.
