Exactly this 👇🏴 “Ambition North Wales is more than a set of Growth Deal projects. It is a collective mission to make North Wales a thriving economic hub where businesses can grow, and communities can prosper.” Yes, collaboration is at the heart of the North Wales Growth Deal. it’s about bringing stakeholders together in a way that enables a systemic approach to tackling the economic shortfalls. It’s not about taking one perspective on how to fix an issue. 🏴

The Experience Ventures program operates with accessibility and flexibility in mind. As facilitated by the Government of Canada, Experience Ventures is delivered with a digital-first approach for a few reasons: ▶︎ Offering the program digitally creates the flexibility the program strives to offer busy students who might not otherwise have access to a work-integrated learning opportunity. ▶︎ The world is continually changing, and the way we work is changing. A digital-first approach allows students, ventures, and post-secondary institutions to expand their reach and make meaningful connections. ▶︎ In line with our mission to help students gain career ready skills, a digital-first approach helps foster student autonomy, independence, and effective time management. This approach is one of our core pillars, and is one that makes Experience Ventures different. 💡 Visit www.experienceventures.ca to learn more about the program. It’s all ‘appening at Freeport East This looks a good event for SoloPreneurs & Micro (1-11 Employee) Businesses interested in promoting their goods & services within the Freeport East Free Trade Zone. Technically Solos/ Micros within the South West Hertfordshire and Watford Constituencies fall within the Englands Economic Heartland Catchment Area as we too are within the “East of England” region and should imv be participating in events like this …. But the Freeport East Operators do tend to see themselves as catering only for those within Norfolk; Essex etc etc. Seems unfair to me but I’ve emailed Ibrahim from the Dept for Business & Trade to see if there’s something that can be done about this because the Solos/ Micros within the 3 Counties of Beds / Herts/ Bucks are in effect losing out because of a postcode lottery from a Levelling Up perspective.. Our MP’s in SWH and Watford and St Albans as well as the councillors at Herts County Council and the myriad District & Borough Councils need to wake up and insist on official representation for 3 Counties Solos/ Micros at these events…. But don’t worry I’m having a chat with Kate at Elysian Services in Harpenden at 1.00 pm as to how to rectify this through the South West Herts SoloPreneurs & MicroBusiness Forum…..” Sisters (& brothers) are doing it for themselves”. One angle for example could be for Solos/ Micros to represent overseas businesses who want to sell their product or service within the FTZ but don’t want to set up a U.K. Business operation from the start as agents or distributors….a sort of testing the waters. Remember the U.K. imports some £680 billion worth of goods & services each year… we are the 6 th largest economy in the Universe and an ideal business platform between the US/ South America/ Canada on the one hand & mainland Europe & Ireland on the other…. Notwithstanding Brexit. So it’s a question of “ Be there or be square”

UTRC is thrilled to announce Dr Ehsan Noroozinejad, one of our leading researchers, has been awarded a prestigious James Martin Institute for Public Policy 2024 Policy Challenge Grant. Ehsan will be leading on the awarded project "Integrated Policies for Affordable & Net-Zero Housing" The housing crisis is arguably the greatest policy challenge facing contemporary Australia. The private housing market, as well as the rental market, are facing levels of strain not seen in generations. This crisis severely affects diverse age groups, from baby boomers seeking smaller dwellings to young families grappling with high costs. It has become a concerning issue that requires immediate action. Concurrently, the building industry contributes significantly to carbon emissions, and reaching net-zero targets is becoming another major challenge for the state government. The crisis calls for innovative solutions within Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), including prefab and modular housing, which have proven effective and efficient globally. However, Australia faces a significant policy gap that delays the widespread adoption of these methods, with the lack of design guidelines adding an additional roadblock. This project will target the dual issues of affordable housing & environmental sustainability. Greg Morrison Nicky Morrison Sebastian Pfautsch GAICD W.
