🟡A tragic incident in downtown Fort Lauderdale🟢 One construction worker lost their life, and three others were injured when a heavy section of a crane fell onto the Southeast Third Avenue bridge during a busy pre-rush hour. Despite the potential for greater catastrophe given the traffic volume, only a few vehicles were hit, with two sustaining severe damage. The bridge now remains closed pending safety certification, and boat traffic on the New River is also halted. The accident, which occurred while workers were raising the crane for a high-rise apartment project, is under investigation. Previous concerns about safety at the site were raised by residents, highlighting the need for stringent safety measures and oversight in construction projects. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this devastating event. We at Z-TEX Safety suggest our readers analyze these reports to strengthen organizational safety discipline and cultivate a robust safety culture. This is our goal when sharing these unfortunate news reports. #Workplacesafety #Workplacefatality #OSHA #Safety #SafetyFirst #ASSP #NSC #SafetyManager #OHS #EHS #BeSafe #SafetyTraining #HealthandSafety #EmployeeSafety #SafetyProfessionals #Construction #ConstructionSafety #GeneralContractor #Contractor #ElectricalContractor #ElectricalSafety #MEP #HR #Underground #Excavations #Utilities #Roofing
