“We will build one satellite computer 💻 per day. This is our proof of concept for scaling up to serial volume production”, said Oliver Grassmann, EVP Satellites 🛰 , in his speech at the Space Tech Expo Europe in Bremen today. “The cost of manufacturing a satellite is plummeting,” Oliver pointed out. How to make money in this challenging market? “Our answer is automation, industrialization and standardization. But before all that comes a very basic management technique – applying lean management principles”, said Oliver. “In the end it is all about our people. Our fantastic engineers and colleagues in all areas make the difference.” Oliver leads the Division Satellites of Beyond Gravity, the leading space supplier in Europe, serving both the commercial and the institutional market. If you are in Bremen, visit us at our booth in 🙋♀️ 👨💼 Hall 6 – just look for our 8 meter high payload fairing, the top of a rocket 🚀 😊

Wrapping up an inspiring day at the #SpaceTechExpoEurope2024 with Claudia Kessler! 🚀✨ This year’s expo was bigger and more vibrant than ever, showcasing the incredible growth and energy of the European space industry. It was exciting to see so many New Space companies making significant strides, with several already in impressive growth phases. The atmosphere? Absolutely buzzing with positivity! 🌍💫 Key topics like space connectivity and access to space dominated the discussions—whether through launchers, space planes, or zero-g experiments. The focus on small satellites and their components stood out, with a special spotlight on COTS for Space as a game-changer in the industry. 🌌📡 A heartfelt thanks to the teams at Rohde & Schwarz, Isar Aerospace, The Exploration Company, POLARIS Spaceplanes, Beyond Gravity, TESAT, and so many others for the fascinating conversations and valuable insights. 🙌 I also was happy to meet Martin Hoppe – he introduced me to the new features of RePoSyD. An exciting design tool, and the discussion about it was truly fascinating! Additionally, I had an inspiring conversation with Emir Gadzo from Universität der Bundeswehr München, about the fascinating satellite project SeRANI. The project explores various technologies for data exchange and connectivity in both civilian and military applications. We ended this exciting day with a great beer at the Czech Space Alliance stand 🍻 and then bid farewell to Bremen. Next stop: Vienna for our 3DSE Management Consultants GmbH Expert Forum, where we’ll dive into Innovation as the key to ecological, digital, and human-centered transformation. Can’t wait for what’s next! 🌟🇦🇹 #SpaceTechExpo #NewSpace #Innovation #SpaceConnectivity #3DSEExpertForum #AccessToSpace #SmallSatellites #3DSE #FutureOfSpace

Little Place Labs (LPL) attended the 38th Annual Small Satellite Conference (SmallSat) in Utah last week. Our team had the privilege of engaging with industry leaders and sharing our strategic vision and advanced capabilities. Key moments from the conference: -> LPL presented our Orbitfy suite of applications, showcasing our edge computing solutions on space Data Processing Units (DPUs). -> We collaborated with partners Unibap and Liscotech, who demonstrated Orbitfy integration with their DPU solutions. -> Met old friends and built new connections generating new leads. -> New opportunities in the making with like-minded partners. More to come. Validation: The discussions and developments at the conference validated the critical role of edge computing in driving real-time intelligence and automated space operations. At Little Place Labs, we remain dedicated to making satellites and space missions smarter and more intelligent. We extend our gratitude to Utah State University for hosting this event in Logan for the last time, as the conference transitions to Salt Lake City next year. See you next year in Salt Lake City. #smallsat #littleplacelabs #automation #spacetech #satellites #edgecomputing

A Look Back at Space Tech Expo Europe It’s been a week since Space Tech Expo Europe, and we’re still reflecting on the great moments and connections made during this event. One of the key highlights was the signing ceremony between DSI Aerospace and Frontgrade Technologies, marking a new chapter in our collaboration. This agreement solidifies our partnership to develop and distribute the SpaceStor™ 2TB Mass Memory Unit. The signing ceremony, held in the presence of Bremen’s Mayor Dr. Andreas Bovenschulte, Senator Kristina Vogt, and Dr. Walther Pelzer from the German Space Agency at Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V., underscored the importance of international cooperation in advancing space technology. Further we enjoyed the conversations with everyone, visiting our booth and are already missing this great space community! To relive this great expo, we, in collaboration with Gerjet Nordhausen, prepared this recap video for you. Enjoy! #spacecommunity #spacetechexpo #forabetterspace
