AI the Agile Way—Merging Tech and Agile Methodologies to Drive Growth

Highlights from the Agile Network India Chennai Chapter event hosted by Kriyadocs

Staying ahead in the ever-changing business landscape today means embracing both agility and artificial intelligence (AI). A recent event conducted by the Agile Network India Chennai Chapter and hosted by Kriyadocs delved deeply into the intersection of agility and technology. Titled "Integrating AI to Enhance Organizational Agility," this in-person event brought together leaders and professionals across industries to explore how AI can be seamlessly integrated into Agile methodologies to drive organizational success.

The day featured an insightful talk, an interactive workshop, and a dynamic panel discussion, each offering unique insights and strategies for individuals and organizations alike.

Talk: “Fusing AI with Agility: Strategies for the Modern Organization”

Senthil Muthu , Vice President at Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India , opened the event with a thought-provoking talk titled “Fusing AI with Agility: Strategies for the Modern Organization.”

To achieve true agile transformation, Senthil emphasized, it is essential to align the organizational goals with the people and the processes. A core theme that emerged from his talk was the critical role of mindset change. He pointed out that embracing agility requires continuous practical training and an awareness of foundational principles.

During his talk, Senthil advocated for a transparent ecosystem where collaboration between emerging and seasoned leaders can thrive, fostering innovation and clear strategic vision. By integrating AI technologies, such as automation, data-driven dashboards, and text-to-speech conversion, organizations can enhance their agility. However, he also warned of the security implications associated with rapid AI-driven development, emphasizing the need for careful planning and risk mitigation.

Workshop: “Encouraging Creativity: Fostering Organizational Growth”

The interactive workshop led by Sudarshan Sridharan , Program Manager at Pacvue , focused on cultivating creativity within organizations to drive growth. Sudarshan’s session revolved around the idea that true innovation begins when individuals overcome their fears.

Under Sudarshan’s guidance, the audience worked in groups to break down communication barriers, which proved to be an enlightening exercise. Leveraging the Stanford Design Thinking Process, Sudarshan stressed the importance of breaking communication barriers and fostering creative confidence among employees in an organization. He drew on the philosophy of "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen, highlighting that courage and creative confidence are key to overcoming internal and external constraints. By encouraging employees to think beyond the mandates and restrictions of the organization, companies can unlock a wealth of creative potential that fuels growth and adaptability.

Panel discussion: “The Future of AI in Agile Organizations”

The day concluded with a stimulating panel discussion moderated by Keerthibhushan V , Lead Analyst at CGI . The panel featured Dr. Kalai Selvi Thanupillai , Head of AI and Data Science at Easwari Engineering College(SRM Group) , Suresh Vijayaraghavan , CTO of The Hindu , and Parivalavan Manoharan , CTO of Kriyadocs .

The discussion centered around the transformative impact of AI, particularly focusing on the changing scope of plagiarism and threats to content originality in the generative AI era. Panelists debated the challenges and opportunities presented by the widespread use of generative AI tools, including threats to human creativity and critical thinking.

The three panelists highlighted the need for robust frameworks to define the safe use of AI in research and content creation. Each panelist provided insightful perspectives from their respective fields of expertise: print and digital media, academia, and scholarly communications.

The dynamic discussion also touched on the importance of maintaining human oversight in AI-driven processes, balancing between leveraging AI for efficiency and ensuring that human creativity and critical thinking are not sidelined. The panelists agreed that there is an essential need for human involvement to guide AI applications effectively and ethically.

Embracing AI: A Strategic Imperative

The Agile Network India Chennai Chapter event in July underscored that integrating AI with organizational agility is not just a technological advancement but a strategic imperative. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, open communication, and collaboration, organizations can harness the power of AI to drive agility, innovation, and growth. As the speakers and panelists illustrated, the future belongs to those that master the art of seamlessly blending human creativity and ingenuity with AI capabilities responsibly and optimally.

At Kriyadocs, we are dedicated to cultivating a vibrant community and promoting collaboration to drive innovation and growth. Hosting events such as this with Agile Network India is part of our approach to encourage discourse, support continuous learning, and enhance collaboration.
