Your Eyebrows Speak Volumes
"There is a different adjective for every time you raise your eyebrows." - Coral
It used to be that we regarded the eyebrows as useful to stop sweat or blood running into the eyes. Nowadays many people are making statements with how they sculpt, decorate, or trim their eyebrows.
Over the past couple of years when many wore masks, it was often only the eyes and eyebrows which remained visible. For so many people, making eye contact was uncomfortable, but for a facial profiler it was an ideal opportunity for more in-depth study of people and personality.
In the ancient tradition of Mien Shiang (Face Reading) with which I've been working for many years, the eyebrows have great significance. They reveal much about how we communicate and process information; how we engage with tasks and projects; and show several personality traits.
Size, depth, angle, and position in relation to the eyes are all informative. When we meet someone for the first time, for a negotiation, sale, interview, or even a date, a quick glance at their eyebrows gives us some key insights for communication.
3 Eyebrow types and what they mean for communication
Thick, straight eyebrows, like this are an indication this individual responds best to information presented in a clear structured way, and can process a large volume of information at a time. They're likely to be sceptical of your intentions if they sense you're omitting something. Anything you communicate to them should be thorough.
Because the eyebrows are also very tidy we can deduce that planning and preparation, and working in an orderly way are very important to them. They do not respond well to disorder!
Eyebrows sitting close above the eyes reveal a mind which processes information quickly. We should speak quickly if we wish to engage and retain their attention, otherwise they're likely to become impatient. It's also more effective to speak in short bursts rather than at length, and to check if they have questions.
If they eyebrows drop lower when we're speaking they have stopped listening, so we should shut up and let them speak.

Curved eyebrows - and yes, man have them too - tell us this is someone who is person centred. When we meet them it's important to take time to get to know them as a person. So-called small talk can be very helpful here. If we push to get straight down to business it's very off-putting to them. Even if they agree to our proposal they're likely to come back with buyers remorse, or alternatively to never do business with us again. They'll perceive us as too pushy.
They're sensitive to the emotions of others - whether expressed verbally or not - and work best in a calm and supportive environment. Enjoyment, rather than simply getting the job done, is important to them, especially if you want to retain their services.
It's all about communication
These are just a few of the vast number of visual clues available to us for communication and building relationships. There's a big difference between talking and communicating. If we don't recognize and acknowledge how someone else processes information our words may just be white noise. Paying attention to these clear visual indicators can mean the difference between success and failure in your negotiations.

1yWhen there is talk of cat's having multiple facial expressions, one can only imagine how many configerations the human face has. I know that even the smallest flicker of an eye speaks to people and affects the emotions and perceptions of others. I learned this in my first leadership position where Joseph McGuire - Face Magic my mood was detected early and spread like an infection. Keep up the oh so valuable work you do.

1yJoseph, thank you for the info. I am curious about more angled or highly curved eyebrows and what this might suggest.
