The Volte was recently invited to join the eBay leadership team at the eBay Ventures Innovation Session in San Francisco, California. The Volte’s CEO, Bernadette Olivier presented all The Volte has achieved in 2024 and our focus for 2025 as we continue to be a leader in the circular economy. The session included an insightful session on the future of AI with Andrew Ng and its impact on the future of innovation. We were also joined by the fantastic SidelineSwap team who are revolutionizing the sale of preloved sporting goods. Large corporations often face challenges when integrating innovation and startup partnerships into their strategies. However, the exceptional support and collaboration we’ve received from eBay Ventures, eBay Australia, eBay UK and eBay as a whole exemplify how big businesses can successfully align with and empower emerging companies to drive meaningful progress.

Australia’s clothing product stewardship scheme Seamless released new clothing benchmark research that reveals that while individual organisations are making progress, and Australians are starting to change their buying behaviour, systemic change is urgently needed to address clothing waste, which can only happen when government, clothing brands, retailers and the industry join forces. The Volte CEO and co-founder Bernadette Olivier joined leaders from across the industry at the Seamless Circular Economy Showcase at NSW Parliament. “We really need to make fashion be seen as an asset. It's about utilisation, because the single biggest thing that we can do is actually use our clothes more,” says Bernadette. “Our API encourages more people to use the circular economy meaning high quality fashion remains in circulation for longer reducing our fashion consumption and textile waste. The fashion industry can be transformed back into a profitable and sustainable industry. Through our Digital IDs, fashion items are tracked every time they are rented or resold. This gives brands access to data post sale - which until now has largely been completely unknown. This data is transparent and auditable and can be used to reduce brands Scope 3 emissions which is key for the fashion industry to become a sustainable industry.” Learn more about The Volte and Seamless https://lnkd.in/g-pzQuWq

The Volte has been a driving force behind the circular economy for over 5 years. We have always been keenly aware that to achieve the necessary change, it will take relentless collaboration between designers, retailers, circular players like The Volte and eBay Australia, and the government. Since Seamless was launched, the speed and tenacity of the team led by Ainsley Simpson and Danielle Kent has been incredibly impressive. We are proud and appreciative to be partners with such an innovative scheme that will create positive and permanent change in our industry.
A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Delta Global and our partners TAFE NSW, Country Road Group, IVE Group, Salvos Stores, The Volte, University of Technology Sydney, HIGH TEA WITH MRS WOO and attendees who joined us at the Seamless Circular Economy Showcase last night! It was an inspiring evening showcasing the responsible innovators and changemakers from across the Australian clothing industry.. As we work towards our goal of transitioning to a circular economy by 2030, we believe collaboration is key. To make this vision a reality, we all need to come together – clothing brands, retailers, individuals, and organisations alike. Want to be part of the movement? Join the growing community of brands, retailers, and industry leaders who are taking responsibility for transforming how clothing is designed, enjoyed, and recycled in Australia. Together, we can create a more sustainable future. https://lnkd.in/gnZF5DBE

Chief Brand and Strategy Officer Kellie Hush driving the Australian global fashion agenda at the 2024 The Business of Fashion Voices Summit in the Cotswolds, UK. The Wider World, The Fashion System, Technology and Innovation, Global Culture and Creativity and finally Live Your Best Life were the key points of discussion across the summit. Incredible lineup including: Tina Brown, Simon Porte Jacquemus and Alessandro Michele. Imran Amed CEO and founder of BOF opening remarks summed up (with a single word) how we are all feeling in the fashion world right now: SONDER. The profound feeling of realizing that everyone, including strangers passing in the street, has a life as complex as one's own, which they are constantly living despite one's personal lack of awareness of it. So many contributing factors and forces at play right now - why it’s imperative we all play our part in the fashion ecosystem to make it better now and into the future. #BoFVoices
