UEA has commenced the drilling scope of works associated with the Kemps Creek Dual Pressure Project being delivered for Quickway on behalf of Sydney Water. The twin 900 metre shots of 800mm HDPE will keep UEA’s HK250C rig spread busy until late March 2025. The team is looking forward to delivering another significant large diameter installation. #hdd #drilling #sydneywater #hk250 #uea https://lnkd.in/gbPUUnWW

UEA recently delivered another significant HDD project in Badgerys Creek, NSW. The 580 metre string of 1000mm HDPE was installed over a period of three days and required three tie in welds. Thank you to Athassel Civil, ACCIONA and the project team involved in successfully executing this project. #hdd #wsaga2 #uea #gallagher #gallagher660 #maxirigs

UEA has been awarded the HDD component on the Refresh Vaucluse Diamond Bay Project, being delivered on behalf of Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure and Sydney Water. An extensive period of meticulous planning and preparation has gone into developing the permanent long term solution to managing one of the last remaining untreated wastewater ocean outfalls in NSW. With boots on the ground anticipated for December 2024, UEA’s team is eager to commence works on the 1890 metre wastewater pressure pipeline. #uea #hdd #horizontaldirectionaldrilling #pipeline #abergeldiecomplexinfrastructure #sydneywater

After 12 months and 8 bores, UEA has completed our final HDD of 730m of DN450 PN20 on the pipelines portion of the Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre for John Holland and Sydney Water. Working on both the Treated Water and Brine Water portions of the pipeline and spanning over a distance of 30km, UEA drilled under motorways, significant rail corridors, major arterial roads and intersections along with several water body crossings including the Nepean River. With our entire fleet of 5 maxi HDD rigs taking part in the project, UEA installed: 950m of DN1000 - over 2 bores 720m of DN900 - over 2 bores 1,540m of DN450 - over 3 bores 260m of DN400 UEA worked closely with the John Holland team, ensuring all aspects of the project ran smoothly despite the challenges of tight work areas, working around live traffic, and a variety of ground conditions varying from soft alluvial soils to Sydney shale to very hard Sydney sandstone. UEA assisted John Holland with design verification, welded and strung out all HDPE pipes, completed all drilling and installation activities and final pressure testing of the installed pipes. It’s been a pleasure to work with the John Holland and Sydney Water teams on such a great project and we look forward to the next one! #uea #hdd #horizontaldirectionaldrilling #maxirigs #pipeline #johnholland #sydneywater

UEA is proud of our association with WaterAid. WaterAid Australia was started by the water industry in 2004 because no organisation like it existed. Since then, WaterAid has been dedicated to delivering clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to vulnerable communities in our region until they are no longer needed. It’s about more than installing taps, toilets, boreholes and wells - WaterAid is working with its supporters and partners to get clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to these communities. UEA has once again committed to being a Gold Sponsor of the upcoming 2024 NSW WaterAid Gala Ball. We look forward to seeing you on the night. #uea #wateraid

Last Friday UEA completed two major pipe installations - the dual installation totalled to an impressive 1,390 meters of pipe installed between the respective projects. This achievement marks a significant milestone for both projects, reflecting the hard work and efficiency of UEA’s HDD crews. #uea #hdd #pipeinstallation #maxirigs #ueatopofitsgame

It takes a rather large 35 tonne excavator to help make this 1,000mm PN20 watermain look small. More large diameter watermain being prepared for installation on another nearly 600m HDD creek crossing in Western Sydney. Works on site are progressing well despite the unfavourably wet winter. Pipe installation will be another challenge on this project with four ‘Golden’ tie-in welds to be completed during pull back. Keep up the great work team. #uea #hdd #ueatopofitsgame

The safety of our rig hands is paramount to UEA’s operations which made the introduction of a deckhand lifting device an easy purchase for the team. This new tool eliminates the need for our rig hands to be working around drill pipe on site and aids in our ongoing commitment to safety and working in accordance with best practice. #lavalleyindustries #bossattachments #deckhand #hdd #uea #ueatopofitsgame #safetyfirst

Over the last month, one of UEA’s crews completed a 1,000 metre crossing under Black Waterholes Creek as part of the Kurri Kurri Pipeline Project on behalf of our client, Spiecapag Australia and the APA Group. Horizontal directional drilling was the chosen method of installation for this section of the pipeline due to the need to minimise the impact on the local flora and fauna in this environmentally sensitive location. #hdd #spiecapagaustralia #apagroup #maxirigs #uea #ueatopofitsgame
