The forest-based industry plays a vital role in the EU's economy, contributing nearly 7% of EU manufacturing GDP and providing around 3.5 million jobs. However, this industry faces significant challenges, particularly in less developed regions. The DRWO4.0 project is dedicated to bridging these gaps by driving the transformation of the Danube region's wood industry towards Industry 4.0. The kick-off event of the project “Danube Region Wood Industry Transformation Model towards Industry 4.0 (DRWO4.0)” took place on April 9 and 10, 2024 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, which aims to increase the competitiveness and innovative strength of the wood industry in the entire Danube region. One of the key goals of the DRWO4.0 project is to engage a diverse range of stakeholders through the quadruple helix approach, linking science, policy, industry, and society. By establishing Pilot Environments (PEs) and fostering cross-sectoral connections, we aim to build capacity and drive innovation across the Danube region’s wood industry. We are thrilled to announce that we are participating in DRWO4.0 project! The project involves 14 partners from 11 regions of the Danube Region, with 18 strategic partners! The DRWO4.0 project was launched with the aim of modernising the Danube region's developing region and the country, which is part of the EU, in the process of implementing Industry 4.0, with the aim of modernising the Danube region's other industries. The project cycle is based on the Industry 4.0 model of transformation of the future industry based on international cooperation for the sake of competitiveness and support of the development of a sustainable growth policy. 🌍🤝 #Interreg #DanubeRegion #DRWO4.0
