AbstractAbstract
[en] TEDEL is intended for the elastoplastic computation of pipes and three-dimensional mechanical structures. Structures are described by means of jointed girder elements or more complex elements as for pipings: bended pipes, right angle elbows, tees, or any elements whose strength parameters are given to TEDEL. TEDEL is also for the dynamic computation of structures, damping included. A TEDEL option is for computing buckling critical load
[fr]

AbstractAbstract
[en] In view of their abundance, piping systems are one of the main components in power industries and in particular in nuclear power plants. They must be designed for normal as well as faulted conditions, for safety requirements. The prediction of the dynamic behaviour of the free pipe requires accounting for several nonlinearities. For this purpose, a beam type finite element program (TEDEL) has been used. The aim of this paper is to enlight the main features of this program, when applied to pipe whip analysis. An example of application to a real case will also be presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] The study was carried out on a simple model made of a one bar with two hinges. This model is subjected to an axial force combined with cyclic thermal loading. The plastic hardening of the hinges has been taken into account, and the convergence of the process, while cycling, has been studied. When the thermal load is too high, ''progressive buckling'' occurs. Diagrams defining the safe domain are presented
[fr]

AbstractAbstract
[en] A finite element for inelastic piping analysis has been presented, which enables accounting for local effects like thermal gradients and supplies local states of stresses and strains, while keeping all the advantages of a classical beam type program (easy to use, simple boundary conditions, cost effectiveness). Thanks to the local description of the cross section, geometrical non-linearity due to inertia modification can be introduced together with material non-linearity. The element can also be degenerated into a straight pipe element

AbstractAbstract
[en] The oxidation of hydrocarbons in the troposphere under NOx rich conditions is associated with ozone formation via conversion of NO to NO2 in reactions with HO2/RO2 in the subsequent photolysis of NO2. The extent of NO/NO2 conversion is hydrocarbon specific and changes with i.e. chain length in the case of n-alkanes. In the present project a laser spectrometric techniques has been developed which allows the direct determination of NO/NO2 conversion by measurements of OH and NO2 growth in the oxidation of individual hydrocarbons. This technique has been applied to all n-alkanes up to n-hexane. It is found that for the simplest alkanes (CH4, C2H6, C3H8) ΔNO2/Δh.c. equals 2.0. For all larger alkanes ΔNO2/Δh.c. increases. These results provide the basis for the derivation of parameterized, lumped mechanistic expressions for the description of ozone formation in chemical/dynamical modells as well as the delineation of ozone formation potentials of individual hydrocarbons. Fuer alle hoeheren KW steigt ΔNO2/δKW an. AbstractAbstract
[en] Two different global models are used in the CEASEMT system for structural analysis, one for the shells analysis and the other for piping analysis (in plastic or creep field). In shell analysis the generalized stresses choosed are the membrane forces Nsub(ij) and bending (including torsion) moments Msub(ij). There is only one yield condition for a normal (to the middle surface) and no integration along the thickness is required. In piping analysis, the choice of generalized stresses is: bending moments, torsional moments, Hoop stress and tension stress. There is only a set of stresses for a cross section and non integration over the cross section area is needed. Connected strains are axis curvature, torsion, uniform strains. The definition of the yield surface is the most important item. A practical way is to use a diagonal quadratic fonction of the stress components. But the coefficients are depending of the shape of the pipe element, especially for curved segments. Indications will be given on the yield fonctions used. Some examples of applications in structural analysis are added to the text
