Today we gathered at Parliament Square to deliver The Hardship Times to parliament.   This newspaper is filled with stories of hope and hardship that have been gathered from across the UK by food banks, charities, faith groups and businesses - part of a campaign urging the UK government to take action on hunger and hardship.    Our social security system is failing to protect people from going without the essentials. We recently met with our partners from Bolsover District Council and Owl Partnerships to celebrate the start of work to build new affordable homes in South Normanton. The Meadow is being developed on land to the rear of Red Lane in South Normanton, and will provide 52 new, mixed tenure, affordable homes, including 28 homes for social rent and 24 for shared ownership. The scheme will offer a mix of 1-bedroomed maisonettes, and 2-, 3- and 4-bedroomed semi-detached and detached family homes.
