Last week, OSRL hosted the Philippines Technical Forum 2024! The event brought together key stakeholders in the region for a dynamic day of learning, discussion, and collaboration 🌏 The lively event showcased the strength of regional partnerships, with participation from all of our seven OSRL Members in the region (Petron Corporation, Shell, Chevron, TotalEnergies, PTT Philippines Corporation, Matahio Energy, and Prime Energy (Prime Energy Resources Development B.V.)). We also welcomed industry and government stakeholders, as well as Tier 2 Oil Spill Response Operators in the Philippines. 📢 We were honoured to have Assistant Secretary for Maritime, Julius Yano, and Deputy Commander of Marine Environmental Protection, Commodore Eduardo P. De Luna Jr, delivering keynote speeches, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in safeguarding the region’s marine environment. Our OSRL team shared their expertise in Crisis Management, Logistics in a Tier 3 Oil Spill Incident, Exercise Design, and Dispersant Application, supported by real-world case studies. Special thanks to our dedicated team for their amazing work at the Technical Forum: Darren Waterman, John Salomon Butac, Norman Ramos, MBA, CMCE, Md Danial Lim Abdullah, Muhammad Afiq, and Sim Kai Jing. Following the forum, we spent several productive days engaging with our Members and stakeholders in the region, including the Philippine Coast Guard, further strengthening ties and enhancing response readiness in the region. 👏 Thank you to all participants for making this event a success! Together, we’re enhancing oil spill response capabilities and ensuring a more resilient future for the Philippines. #osrl #oilspillresponse #industryupdates #osrlcommunity #osrlengage #osrlevent

Reflecting on an incredible experience at the EAS Congress in Xiamen, China! 🌏 This year’s theme on synergy and collaboration for a more sustainable and resilient future resonated deeply with OSRL's commitment to regional and global preparedness. In collaboration with GISEA, we delivered a hands-on workshop for governmental agencies and stakeholders, focusing on the power of collaboration in building effective oil spill preparedness and response systems. Our Engagement Director, Darren Waterman, participated in a thought-provoking plenary panel, where he shared OSRL's insights on the global challenges and local solutions shaping the future of oil spill response. A huge thank you to our dedicated team - Lim Wei Yao Derrick, James Tan, and Norman Ramos, MBA, CMCE—who represented OSRL with passion and expertise! At OSRL, we’re committed to a brand ethos that blends global presence, regional focus, and a personalised approach – because effective response starts with understanding unique regional needs 🌍 This year, we held Regional Technical Forums in Ireland, Nigeria, and the Philippines, bringing together local expertise to address the unique challenges each region faces. Our bases across the globe are positioned for rapid mobilization, enabling swift action wherever we’re needed. But it’s not just about being close in a crisis – it’s about being close to our members every day! For example, our Americas team recently visited Naviera Transoceanica S.A. in Lima (Peru), where we shared our experience and capabilities with an audience of 60. We also met with their executive team to explore how OSRL can bolster their preparedness and response capabilities. By connecting locally, we tailor solutions to empower our partners’ success. Thank you Diego Florez Roggero, Carlos Rodriguez Zabalbeascoa, and Juan Mendiola Silva for your hospitality and insights! This International Men’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on mental health. Particularly the mental health of our Responders, who face challenging conditions on the frontline of oil spill response 💙 From braving extreme weather and pollution to witnessing its impacts on the environment and communities, our Responders experience unique pressures that make mental health support crucial. This year, we’ve taken significant steps to prioritise mental well-being: ✅ Trained our first group of Mental Health First Aiders, a team of 30+ ready to listen and guide colleagues to helpful resources. ✅ Enrolled Responders in apps like Lume and WHOOP, tracking stress levels and providing insights for better support during spill responses. ✅ Launched our "Movember" campaign, raising funds for local mental health charities. Together, we’re fostering a culture of care, breaking down stigmas, and ensuring our team feels supported—because mental health matters every day! #InternationalMensDay #Movember #osrl #osrlcommunity #osrlengage #csr
