  • China EV sales tracker ⚡️🇨🇳 In November, China's EV market saw mostly positive growth, with notable exceptions like Li Auto and Nio. BYD led with 504,003 passenger NEV’s (up 0.7% from October), bringing their 2024 total to over 3.7 million, a 40% increase YoY. Despite slowing growth in PHEV sales, BYD's BEV’s are catching up, now comprising 39.3% of total sales. Geely followed with 122,453 NEV’s (up 12.6% from October) and Zeekr posted a strong 106% YoY increase, delivering 27,011 units. Changan reported 100,000 NEV sales, with brands like Deepa achieving record-breaking results. Li Auto faced a slight decline, delivering 48,740 units (down 5.3% from October), but still saw a 18.8% YoY increase. In the fast-growing NEV category (which includes BEV’s, PHEV’s, and FCEV’s), the trend is clear: BEV’s are gaining share, with companies like BYD, Geely, and Xpeng making significant strides in global and domestic markets. Xiaomi, which started deliveries of its SU7 sedan, recorded 21,955 units sold. Nio saw a minor dip, with 20,575 units sold, though it remains up 28.9% YoY. The competitive landscape continues to shift, with newer entrants like Xpeng's Mona sedan gaining traction and legacy automakers adjusting to the rapidly evolving EV space. What do you think of China’s range of BEV’s? Can you see it continuing to grow? #china #ev #electriccar #electricvehice #byd #netzero #sustainability

Charging from home is a game changer ⚡️ One of the biggest perks of owning an electric vehicle, is the ability to charge it at home, and the Pod Point Solo 3S does the job perfectly. For me, it's been a game-changer in so many ways. Charging at home is incredibly cost effective. I can fully charge my Tesla Model Y for less than £5 using smart charging, which gives me enough range to last around a week. Compare that to fueling a petrol or diesel car, and the savings really add up. No more detours to petrol stations or waiting in line for a pump. I simply plug in at home overnight, and my car is ready to go by morning with a full battery. It's like waking up to a "full tank" whenever I need to. With the option to choose renewable energy tariffs, I know my home charging is not just cheaper, but also better for the environment. I can also charge my EV whenever it suits me, taking advantage of off-peak electricity rates for even lower costs. Smart charging features on the Pod Point app also make it easy to optimise charging times. For those considering an EV or curious about home charging, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a seamless way to make EV ownership not just sustainable, but incredibly practical and affordable. If you’ve got questions about EV's, charging from home, or how to make the transition, feel free to connect or drop a message. • Why Electric Cars are better than traditional ICE vehicles ⚡ As the automotive world continues its shift toward sustainability, it’s becoming clearer that electric vehicles offer some significant advantages over traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Lower Running Costs 💰 EV’s can be far cheaper to run than ICE vehicles, especially when charging from home. With electricity generally being more affordable than petrol or diesel, and fewer moving parts to maintain, EV owners enjoy lower fuel and maintenance costs over the long term. Environmental Impact 🌍 Electric cars produce zero tailpipe emissions, making them a cleaner choice for the environment. Reducing harmful pollutants like CO2, nitrogen oxides, and particulates helps improve air quality and contributes to the fight against climate change. The growing trend of renewable energ will only help. Performance & Efficiency ⚡ Electric motors provide instant torque, delivering smooth, quiet, and responsive acceleration. Plus, EV’s are more energy efficient, converting a higher percentage of energy from the battery into motion compared to ICE vehicles. Reduced Maintenance 🔧 With no engine, transmission, or exhaust system, EV’s require less maintenance and fewer repairs. No more oil changes, spark plug replacements, or complex exhaust repairs, just a smooth ride and lower upkeep costs. Government Incentives 🎯 Many governments are offering tax breaks, grants, and incentives to promote EV adoption. In the UK, this includes grants for new vehicles and home chargers, making it easier than ever to switch to electric. Future-Proofing ⏳ With the global push to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles, EV’s are becoming the vehicle of the future. By switching now, you’re preparing for stricter emissions standards and staying ahead of the curve in an increasingly green economy. #electriccar #electricvehicle #ev #evcharging #netzero #sustainability #greenerfuture

  • Why UK businesses are switching to electric cars ⚡️ As the UK pushes closer to sustainability and net-zero targets, more and more businesses are making the switch to electric vehicles EV, which is helping. Here are a few key reasons why: Cost Savings 💰 While the initial investment in electric vehicles can be higher, businesses are quickly seeing the financial benefits. Lower fuel costs, fewer maintenance needs, and tax incentives make EVs a smart long-term investment. Sustainability Goals 🌍 With growing pressure to reduce carbon footprints and meet environmental targets, EVs offer businesses a direct way to align with sustainability commitments. Companies that make this shift demonstrate leadership in the fight against climate change. Government Incentives 🎯 The UK government offers various grants, tax breaks, and funding options to encourage businesses to adopt electric cars. These incentives can significantly reduce the upfront cost and make EVs a more affordable choice. Employee Satisfaction 💼 Employees are increasingly conscious of environmental issues. By providing electric vehicles, businesses can attract and retain top talent who value sustainability in the workplace. Regulatory Compliance ✅ With stricter emissions standards and the upcoming ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, businesses are future-proofing their fleets by transitioning to electric now. #electriccar #electricvehicle #ev #evcharging #netzero #sustainability #greenerfuture #emissions

My new Pod Point Solo 3S home charger is incredible ⚡️ As I’ll be doing some work with Pod Point, it’s only right that I walk the walk, and I’ve had their brand new Solo 3S installed at home. I’ve been a fan of Pod Point for a long time, and even applied for a job there, right at the start of my EV journey, many years ago. The customer service was excellent, from arranging the survey, to arranging installation and then Haydn was incredible, he even let me film some of his work. The thing I like the most is how incredibly user friendly the app is, it was effortless getting set up, it’s easy to use, easy to schedule as well as the ability flick it to manual charging if needed, at the push of a button. If we are to entice the masses, then it has to be easy to use. But, I do love how slick and stylish it looks, as well as it being state of the art, and can tap straight into solar, should I choose to install it in the future. • First year road tax for petrol and diesel drivers set to be up to 10x higher. In radical changes to the road tax system, Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced that ICE vehicles under 76g/km of emissions will now pay £110-£130 for the first year of road tax. Those drivers whose emissions are 76g/km or above will see their first year road tax double, up to a possible £5,490. EV drivers will now also pay road tax of £10 for the first year. All cars will pay the standard £190 for second year onwards. #budget #chancellor #labour #electriccar #electricvehicle #ev #netzero #sustainability
