  • 2024 was an incredible year, so we wanted to take a quick moment to reflect on some of the major milestones from the last year: ✅ Official Charity Status: We became a registered charity — a significant achievement that underscores the impact we’re making to advance social mobility in Singapore. ✅ Access Social Mobility Summit: We hosted our very first summit, bringing together 450 guests across the public, private, and people sectors to spark meaningful conversations and drive collective action on social mobility. ✅ Access Fellowship Programme: We launched our first long-term initiative to support tertiary students in transitioning from school to the workplace. A huge thank you to SHEIN for being our principal sponsor, and to our partners like Deliveroo, Schneider Electric, Constellar, and SHEIN for mentoring and empowering our Fellows. ✅ Access Alumni Network: We introduced a new platform to stay connected with past programme participants and continue supporting them as they forge their futures. ✅ 2,000 Students Impacted: Since our founding, we’ve officially reached 2,000 students, scaling our programmes significantly in 2024 to make an even bigger difference in the communities we serve. ✅ Team Growth: From a volunteer-driven organisation to a growing full-time team, we’re evolving really quickly to keep pace with the increasing scope of our work! To everyone who has been part of this journey - thank you. Your belief in our mission and support of our initiatives have made all of this possible. We’re beyond excited for what’s to come in 2025 as we grow even further and continue building brighter, more inclusive futures for all. Stay tuned for the updates ahead! 🚀 #AccessSingapore

  • 🌟 Stretching for a Cause with Yoga Movement! 🌟 Earlier this December, we teamed up with Yoga Movement for two incredible charity yoga classes to raise funds for our student programmes in Q1 2025. We’re thrilled to share that both classes - held at YM’s Orchard and Tanjong Pagar outlets - were fully booked! 🙌 It was truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and excitement from all our participants. To everyone who joined us on the mat: thank you for supporting our mission and for being part of this meaningful journey with us. (A special thank you as well to Hush Candle for providing our participants with curated festive goodies!) 💙 We hope these sessions not only gave you a fulfilling practice, but also sparked conversations about social mobility and the work we do to create more inclusive futures for our communities. Together, we can indeed make a difference! Now stay tuned as we release more about our exciting lineup of activities coming through in 2025! 🚀 #AccessSingapore #CharityClasses

  • At the end of November, we officially launched the Access Alumni Network (AAN) - a new initiative designed to support our aspiring students beyond their educational journeys. The AAN is more than a professional group; it’s a community. Built to bridge gaps in social capital, it connects past Access programme participants with mentors, professionals, and peers, and empowers them to thrive in the working world through mentorship, skills development workshops, masterclasses, and networking events. Our goal? To equip them with the tools and resources they need to navigate their futures confidently and define success on their own terms. We were grateful to welcome an incredible lineup of mentors from diverse industries - including logistics, communications, energy, legal, and gaming, who generously shared their time and expertise with our students. Seeing our youths network so effortlessly with these mentors was also incredibly heartwarming, and we hope that this is just the beginning of many purposeful and impactful experiences for everyone involved. To our students and mentors: thank you for being part of this incredible milestone with us. We can’t wait to create even more opportunities together in 2025! And for those who would like to learn more about the Access Alumni Network or find ways to get involved, do reach out to us at alumni@access-sg.co - the team will be happy to help 🙌 #AccessSingapore #AccessAlumniNetwork

Congratulations to our 2024 Paul Rawlinson Award recipients. The Paul Rawlinson Award is a key part of our global socio-economic diversity program. This award honors our late Chair Paul Rawlinson’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for all. The Empower Program is a partnership between Baker McKenzie and social mobility charity Access Singapore. This initiative provides opportunities for disadvantaged students aged 17 to 19 to enhance their skills with guidance from industry leaders, thereby facilitating future career prospects. Through our partnership with Circl®, program participants have gained essential skills to coach and collaborate effectively with underrepresented individuals aged 18-24. This initiative supports the cultivation of future leaders. In a collaboration between AbbVie and Baker McKenzie, the AbbVie and Baker McKenzie Young Lawyers Mentoring Program supports young lawyers and law students from underrepresented groups. It provides mentoring, training, and networking opportunities across regions to develop career skills and connections. The TRW Institute is a non-profit project, run by Trench Rossi Watanabe, with whom we have established a cooperation agreement for consulting on foreign law. The institute provides access to legal education for disadvantaged individuals in Brazil. By partnering with NGOs, universities, and professional services firms, the program funds law and language education.

  • 👫🏽 Celebrating International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development on 5 December! 👫🏽 Five years ago, Access started as a volunteer-led organisation, and while we’ve grown our full-time team since, our volunteers remain at the heart of everything we do. Their dedication and passion have built the very foundation that drives our mission forward and we are so grateful for their support. This year, we’re shining a spotlight on some of our incredible volunteers who make Access tick, so swipe through the visuals to hear what Ian Ho, Toh Hui Shan, and Matias Quintana have to say about their experiences and why they've decided to be part of this journey 🙌🏼 To all our past and present volunteers, your commitment has been the heartbeat of our charity, and none of this would have been possible without you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us open doors to brighter opportunities for our aspiring youths. 💙 Inspired to make a difference? • We recently celebrated a successful and enriching Mentorships programme with Anderson Serangoon Junior College and global investment firm KKR’s Singapore team. As our students plan and navigate their future pathways, their ability to network, manage their personal finance, write compelling resumes, and communicate effectively will prove critical for success. Over the course of four sessions, we collaborated closely with mentors from KKR to deliver tailored masterclasses, including: 👥 Networking Masterclass:  Led by Chin Yu Oh, Director of KKR Credit, this masterclass allowed students to hone their networking skills through guided practice with mentors, using tailored prompts to build confidence. 📈 Personal Finance Masterclass:  Conducted by Jeremy C., Principal of KKR Real Estate, this masterclass covered essential topics such as budgeting, banking, credit card management, sustainable investing, and adopting a strategic, long-term approach to personal finance. 💪 Interview and Resume Writing Masterclass:  Guided by Melissa C., Head of Human Capital (South Asia) at KKR & Co. Inc, this masterclass focused on the fundamentals of crafting impactful resumes, and strategies to tackle challenging interview questions. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated KKR mentors who generously shared their time, expertise, and encouragement with our students. Your guidance and mentorship have not only inspired them, but also empowered them to take meaningful steps toward achieving their goals. Together, we continue to shape a future where every student has the tools and support they need to succeed ✨ #AccessSingapore #Mentorships

  • ✨ Building Connections at LinkedIn's Recent Community Impact Fair ✨ Earlier this month, we were honoured to participate in LinkedIn Singapore’s Community Impact Fair. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with LinkedIn’s employees and share more about the work we do at Access to advance social mobility for aspiring youths. We were also grateful for the chance to reconnect with friends from across the non-profit space, including talenTtrust, Halogen, TomoWork, and many more. Moments like these remind us of the power of collaboration and collective action. As we look ahead, we are committed to working together to drive greater awareness of the critical social issues we champion and engage more passionate individuals to give back to our communities. Only by working together can we create a more equitable future for all. A very big thank you to Sandhya Dovedy and the team for inviting us to be part of this meaningful event. Let’s continue to make a positive impact together! #AccessSingapore #LinkedInCommunityImpactFair
