He's in Austin, TX networking with power players and deploying our strategies. You may have seen the posts, and DM's. 🏀 On the right is top scoring Power Forward, Eric Dickens. Dunking over the competition or hitting the corner 3, he gets it done. Eric makes it easy for me, whether it's a lob or a tough pass to handle, he will bring it home. Here's how we set up Eric: For years, I have used LinkedIn with great success. Just like eras change the game of basketball -Russell Boston Celtics, Jordan 🐐 Chicago Bulls, Steph Golden State Warriors- to win you have to adapt. I'm always looking to improve. 🤔 Like through the Brand Built Community, founded and led by business masterminds Darren Mass & Nat Berman. 🧠 3 to 5 times a week, there are Zoom meets for members to learn and share. On a call a month ago, I met Sarah Blesi based in sunny Cleveland, OH with its great Lake Erie beachfront. 🥶 Using LinkedIn I introduced her to Eric, who's based outside of Cleveland. 🌉 This week he attended a networking meeting Sarah invited him to, not knowing what to expect. 😮 Here's what happened: ➡️ Start building on what could be a great referral relationship with Sarah ➡️ Promising connections, spoke specifically about 3 potential scenarios where one could even lead to a Small Business Development Group, Inc. (Stock Symbol: SBDG) acquisition for our parent company! 🤯 ➡️ At our weekly Team meetings, we often practice our elevator intro pitches. Eric wanted me to know it prepped him for his meeting and he had the room laughing. ➡️ It turned out to be a BNI (Business Network International) meeting, and a chapter leader recognized Stony Hill Advisors from LinkedIn and our newsletters! 🎉 Fabulous BLACK Friday! 🛍️ Are you out shopping? 🛒 💁♂️ I'm cruising the malls, chasing my dream of being a model representing for 50+ Asian American men! 😂 🤣 🛍️ Seriously, years ago when I first started using my pics 📸 in LinkedIn posts, I was often asked, "Why do you post so many pictures of yourself? Is your ego really that big" 🤔 Actually, no. I would rather NOT be out there. But it WORKS. There is a reason why today, you see so many more people posting and telling their stories. Because if done right, it does drive business. 📈 For those people who complain,🙄 Guess what? NO ONE remembers those boring corporate ads with just a logo and stock images! 🙈 All those we did, no one ever said anything to me about one, even with great written content. But when I'm in it, people DO remember me. 😎 Not because I'm a model (yet! 😁 ), but because I'm authentic. 💯 I show who we are and what we do. And stand behind it. I am not trying to push just myself- I am not a solopreneur. This is for our entire firm. And it works for the entire firm.🏢 All the time, when someone from our Team is out networking, and they say they are with Stony Hill Advisors, people say "I've heard of them." And often mention someone they do know or have seen. And yes, it is often me. I didn't create this trend. The tech giants did. Jobs, Gates led the way, Cuban is all in, and Elon reigns supreme when it comes to being the face of companies. Love him or hate him, he is the master of social media and business. 📲 And perfecting it for us regular people? I just go for it. But have gotten better, because I am always learning. ✈️🧳 Two Travel Tips for a Smooth Thanksgiving Week Journey! 🦃🍽️ With Thanksgiving Week in full swing, many of us are hitting the road or taking to the skies to gather with loved ones. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or embarking on your first holiday adventure, here are two tips to keep your journey stress-free and enjoyable during this busier than usual travel period: 1. Pack Light, Pack Smart: 🎒👕👖 Avoid the baggage claim blues by packing only the essentials. Opt for versatile clothing items that can be mixed and matched. Roll clothes to save space or use packing cubes to stay organized. Bring a small, reusable shopping bag for stuff you pick up along the way! 👜🎁 I also bring an empty XL rolled duffel bag in the case I bring a lot back. 2. Stay Connected, Stay Charged: 📱🔌📶 In today's digital age, staying connected is key, especially when traveling. Ensure your phone is fully charged before heading out and bring power banks and portable charger to keep your devices powered up on the go. The power bank is key, as the ports on the plane or airport rarely work, not to mention finding them. Download travel apps, maps, and entertainment to stay informed and entertained throughout your journey. 🗺️🎧 And a big one- download the airline app AND make sure you are logged on prior. Bonus Tip: Embrace the Unexpected! ✨😊 Travel often comes with its share of surprises, both big and small. Embrace the unexpected detours, the chance encounters, and the spontaneous moments that make your journey unique and memorable. After all, the journey is just as important as the destination. 🧭 And for me, DO NOT just tune out and ignore your fellow travelers. Be human.
