⭐ Hump Day Shout Outs ⭐ This month we are highlighting a couple of hardworking subbies working on the Foodstuffs South Island AutoFreeze project here in Christchurch. Imtiaz Immanuel aka Fiji works for Lanyon & Le Compte, they supply and install the precast panels for the refrigeration plant room. We have heard nothing short of great feedback about their team and they have been awesome to work alongside. Fiji has a positive impact on those around him on site, his set of skills are used to carry out finishing work of sealing and patching precast panels. Dave Ward works for Altitude Building & Construction. He has been hard at work framing up and installing Gib Fireline to the walls and ceilings of the Oxy reduction plant room. Fun fact about Dave is he actually worked for Apollo for almost 7 years as a site manager and he finished up with us in 2022. He said he loves working on Apollo sites and getting to meet the site teams. Well done guys and thank you to all of our subbies working hard to get this project across the line! 🙌 #construction #designandbuild #people

After what feels like a very long winter, Spring is finally here. Lighter days, warmer weather and the sound of bird songs has made us look back fondly at a Marina project in the most stunning setting – the banks of the Hamble Estuary. Nesting birds within an estuary means that there is a very limited window of opportunity for a project to be built, and for Hamble Yacht Services, Environmental Officers and the Local Authority were keen that the process should be a short as possible and at just the right time. Modulek Operations Director Brian Pester talks about how modular construction can provide a solution to these very short windows of opportunity and Director at Hamble Yacht Services Tim Yetman explains how this enabled the build to go ahead on such an environmentally sensitive site. Watch our video to see how we tackled environmental challenges and used modular construction to bring this project to life on the scenic Hamble Estuary. Watch our video below to find out more! https://lnkd.in/eh9bZQAc Get in touch with us at 01202 813121 or drop us an email at sales@modulek.co.uk. Want to see more of our work? We read this morning of the sudden closure of Flambards Theme Park in Cornwall. There is nothing to celebrate in the loss of a UK attraction and with it the immediate jobs and community impact it will have. What we noted was they cited maintenance costs and sourcing of parts for ageing equipment as a contributing factor. Disappointing to read! Fletcher Moorland is actively working with many major UK attractions on their rides, attractions and transportation systems. This includes servicing and upgrading equipment that is 40+ years old. At Fletcher Moorland we specialise in the repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, and we’re here to support UK theme parks and attractions with all their ride and equipment needs. Our services are designed to keep your attractions running smoothly and safely, so you can focus on providing a great experience for your visitors. We understand how crucial it is for rides to operate consistently without unexpected downtime. That’s why we offer both reactive repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure your equipment is always in top condition. Our preventative maintenance programmes are especially valuable, as they help to catch issues before they become bigger problems, saving you from expensive emergency repairs and extending the life of your rides. One of the key ways we can help your theme park is by upgrading legacy drives and controls. We know that many rides rely on older systems, and finding replacement parts for these can be challenging. Our team can retrofit or modernise these systems with up-to-date controls, ensuring your rides perform better and are more reliable. Upgrades can also help improve energy efficiency and reduce running costs. What’s more, we offer a 24/7 service (Open 365 days a year), so if any of your rides break down, we can respond quickly to get them up and running again with minimal disruption. With our technical expertise, quick response times, and commitment to quality, we’re ready to be your reliable partner in keeping your rides and attractions in top shape all year round. If you’re looking for a engineering maintenance partner who is as invested in keeping your equipment running as you are then Fletcher Moorland could be the answer. For all those impacted by this closure we wish you swift re-employment. 📨 hello@fletchermoorland.co.uk 📞 01782 411021 *Pictured is Jimmy working on a BBC Motor including carrying out a Baker Test. #ThemePark #Attractions #RideMaintenance #MaintenanceEngineering #Engineering #ElectricalEngineering #MechanicalEngineering #AssetManagement

Cape Town a catamaran-building mecca In the past year, Cape Town boat builders have produced around 330 catamarans, the majority of which are exported. This is more than any other city in the world. This demand for Capetonian marine products is largely thanks to the City’s funding of special-purpose vehicle BlueCape, which promotes the local boat-building industry and supports skills development. In addition to the manufacture of catamarans, South Africa is also highly regarded for producing top-quality semi-rigid boats and rescue craft, says BlueCape, and several manufacturers operate in this sub-sector. Moreover, the demand for these diverse boat types has led to a rise in the number of component and equipment manufacturers producing items such as sails, masts, rigging components, marine-grade rope, aluminium doors, upholstery, carbon-fibre hatches, engine components, and stainless-steel accessories. Cape Town’s marine manufacturing industry is valued at over R3 billion per annum and is growing at an impressive rate of over 17% annually. As demand grows, so too does the need for an ever-expanding skilled workforce. This is why the City proudly supports BlueCape to drive work-readiness initiatives and promote the Mother City’s boat-building industry among investors. #TourismMonth #ChooseCapeTown #TourismIndustry

Great ending... Coincidence?.. I don't think so... "The flare that saved their lives was the last one the men had. When it caught the attention of the helicopter, Carter said it was the best feeling in the world." I's the boys that builds the boats..and I's the boys that sails them.. 🪗🎶🎵 https://lnkd.in/g_YjPpQT #developer #construction #planning #design #affordablehousing #affordablerentals #realestate #commercialrealestate #condos #realestateindustry
