Is food waste a problem in your company too? Here are three ways to manage it. But before you manage it, assess the frequency of wastage, your storage solutions, and waste disposal. Once you know how much food waste your company generates, you can manage it. 1. Talk about food waste to your employees Start with sharing the problem and your vision. Discuss waste reduction strategies with them and express your expectations. 2. Set up composting bins Keep clearly labelled bins for organic waste. Inform your employees what it's for, so they can easily throw away their wet waste. 3. Join forces with local charities or food banks If you'd like a simple, straightforward solution, this is it. Collaborate with local groups to share food with those in need. Bonus tip - Use reusable cutlery instead of single-use ones. If you want to create an end-to-end waste management strategy for your office, we can help.

Reducing household waste is a practical and eco-friendly way to contribute to a healthier environment. Here are some effective tips to help you minimize waste at home: 1, Compost Organic Waste: Set up a compost bin for kitchen scraps and yard waste. Composting reduces landfill waste and creates nutrient-rich soil for your garden. 2. Recycle Responsibly: Familiarize yourself with your local recycling guidelines. Separate recyclables like paper, glass, and plastic from your regular trash to ensure they are processed correctly. 3. Buy in Bulk: Purchase items in bulk to reduce packaging waste. Use reusable containers for storage. 4. Use Reusable Bags: Bring your own bags when shopping. This simple habit significantly cuts down on plastic waste. 5. Choose Refillable Products: Opt for products that can be refilled, such as cleaning supplies and personal care items. This reduces the need for single-use packaging. 6. Repair, Don’t Replace: Before discarding broken items, consider repairing them. This applies to electronics, clothing, and household goods. 7. Donate Unwanted Items: Give items you no longer need a second life by donating them to charities or thrift stores. 8. Plan Your Meals: Reduce food waste by planning your meals and buying only what you need. Store food properly to extend its shelf life. Reducing waste not only benefits the environment but can also positively impact your homeowner’s insurance. By maintaining a clean and well-organized home, you can reduce risks like fire hazards and pest infestations. A well-kept home often translates to fewer claims and can help you secure better rates and terms on your insurance policy. It may seem like a drop-in-the-bucket but each of us CAN make a difference. Some Zero Waste Tips in honor of Earth Day 2024: 🌱 Sort your own waste (separate out recyclables, trash, and compost items) 🌱 Use a reusable water bottle (I love YETI brand for water bottles that keep my ice water cold all day in the hot Texas summer) 🌱 Reduce energy consumption (be mindful of peak energy use times in your area and conserve/reduce during those times) 🌱 Repair/upcycle your clothes (consider buying vintage or donating gently used clothes) 🌱 Bring a bag for shopping (canvas or cloth bags work well for carrying groceries) 🌱 Buy eco-friendly products (one of my favorite brands is Branch Basics for plant-based household all-purpose cleaners and laundry booster!) Are you ready to give some of these a try? We really can make an impact for the Earth one day at a time! 💦 🌱 #zerowastetips #bestresumecoach #yeti #branchbasics #earthday2024 #everydayisearthday

Did you know that in the UK alone, we spend over £960 million on Easter goodies, resulting in tons of waste? From Easter egg plastic packaging to leftover food, the numbers are staggering. WRAP estimates up to 4.5Mt of food that could have been eaten is being wasted in the UK annually. Let's reduce our impact and make this holiday more sustainable: 💚 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Let's aim to recycle every piece of Easter egg packaging we encounter. By doing so, we could save 1,170,000 kWh of energy 💚 Plan your Easter feast wisely to avoid food waste. Get creative with leftovers or consider donating excess food to those in need 💚 When gifting, think sustainable! Choose presents with minimal packaging or go for experiences instead of material goods. Let's make this Easter not only about indulgence but also about conscious choices that benefit our planet.
