Our CEO Vitor Verdelho attended "Conferências de Inovação Agrícola" in Fundão, where he joined a roundtable discussing about cultured meat as the meat of the future. Cellular agriculture is transforming global food production, with the number of companies in this space rapidly growing, signaling the potential of this technology. At Cell4Food, we’re pioneering the future of seafood through cellular aquaculture. Our current efforts are centered on developing cell-based octopus 🐙, with plans to explore other interesting fish species. We see cell-based seafood products as a sustainable and ethical solution to the challenges of traditional fishing. As we continue to innovate, we’re exploring the possibilities that cellular agriculture brings. Join us in creating a more sustainable future for food! #Cell4Food #CellularAgriculture #FutureOfFood #Sustainability

There were so many powerful learnings for us at the Blue Food Innovation Summit in London (and opportunities for Natalie Longmire-Kulis and Tessa Charupatanapongse, M.S.Ed to connect with others in this space like Mauricio, pictured below). As investors in innovative seaweed solutions, this was a main focus for our team. Here's a few takeaways that we had on the challenges and opportunities in this space: • In Korea, China, and Japan, near-shore cultivation is saturated, so there's a need to go off shore. • In Southeast Asia, seedlings and monoculture present a great risk to the seaweed farming industry. • In the West, the seaweed industry is a nascent space with increasing demand, but regulations and permits can be a bottle neck towards scaling. • Dr. Jang Kim estimates that there is a 30-40 year technology gap between seaweed farming in the East and the West. • Vincent Doumeizel points out that we should be striving for food innovations that are not just sustainable (because our current climate situation is already so alarming), but regenerative–trying to build back and restore climate health. This makes seaweed an appealing branch of aquaculture for many reasons, including its regenerative properties. #seaweed #aquaculture #bluefoodinnovation

There is a lot of buzz about #regenerativeagriculture - but how to make it happen in a world dominated by conventional agriculture? Together with our partners in 3Keel, Nestlé Purina PetCare Europe, PepsiCo, Consorzio di Tutela della DOC Prosecco, and others, Preferred by Nature are creating landscape-based “market places” for ecosystem services, focused on regenerative agriculture - in Hungary, Poland and Italy. In the Landscape Enterprise Networks Programme (LENs), farmers are invited to implement regenerative agriculture measures on their lands, they are paid to do so by companies sourcing from the landscapes, who in return achieve their targets of increasing regenerative agriculture in their supply chains. The result is much more resilient agricultural landscapes, more sustainable food production, better biodiversity protection and carbon storage. While it already feels pretty big, we’re just getting started! Let us know what you think - and read a bit more on our work in Italy here:

A New Era in Plant Health🌍🌿 The story begins at the IPM Conference in May at Brussels, where two innovation projects, SAGROPIA and NextGenBioPest were recognized as being the pioneers for the future of plant health. Thankyou Diego Canga Fano Today, we are thrilled to announce that these two Horizon Europe sister projects are joining forces to amplify their impact on sustainable farming and IPM across Europe! SAGROPIA is leading the way in crop protection with the aim to introduce 13 biological and low-risk pesticides with a specific focus on potato and sugar beet crops. SAGROPIA's mission is to seamlessly integrate these sustainable solutions into comprehensive IPM strategies. NextGenBioPest project is dedicated to developing novel solutions that safeguard human health and address the challenge of increasing crop yields while significantly reducing reliance on chemical pesticides. Together, by combining expertise and innovative approaches, we aim to create a healthier environment and foster more sustainable farming practices. We look forward to a successful collaboration! 🙏 To learn more about the two projects, check out www.sagropia.eu and www.nextgenbiopest.eu RTDS Group AIT Austrian Institute of Technology Angeliki Milioti John Vontas #SustainableAgriculture #PlantProtection #Innovation #IPM #Collaboration #AgricultureInnovation #Sustainability #EUProjects

Just like any other business, feed companies as part of the seafood industry require plenty of working capital to get a hold of the raw materials they need for production. Catch us in the latest edition of International Aquafeed magazine where we explore how feed companies can utilize trade finance to ensure they have optimal working capital levels on hand, for raw material procurement, agreeable payment terms, and more. Read the issue here: https://lnkd.in/efUpdy4Y Thank you International Aquafeed for the opportunity!
The latest edition of International Aquafeed is now available in-print, online and on our app! The features in this edition begin with a story about 'Working Capital An Essential Ingredient for Feed Companies' from Catherine Alvino, Marketing Manager, Tradewind, USA. This is followed by an interesting article from OddGeir Oddsen, CEO, ProChaete, Norway, which discusses 'Turning Waste into Wealth The Sustainable Innovation in Aquafeed' For those of our readers that particularly enjoy our Fish Farming Technology portion of the magazine, we have many amazing stories this month. Including a piece from AQUA Sightline about 'Data Analytics To enhance IPRS and Split Pond Systems ' It has been a busy time recently when it comes to Aquaculture events, but we have a packed magazine this month which should easily catch you up on all of the latest news from events all across the industry. This is due to our excellent reports, with us covering Aquaculture UK, the Blue Food Innovation Summit and ISFNF Puerto Vallarta México inside our latest edition. We know our food system needs to change, but where's the positive vision for its future? #RegenerativeAgriculture could be a part of that solution. But what does it actually mean? Can it genuinely transform farming, or is it at risk of becoming just another buzzword? In our new FoodUnfolded documentary, science journalist Silvia Lazzaris explores these questions. She takes us on a journey around the world, from Ernst Götsch’s lush syntropic farm in Bahia, Brazil, where once-barren land has become a thriving ecosystem, to Juntos Farm in Ibiza, where regenerative farming is strengthening local communities. But it doesn’t stop there, Silvia dives deeper, speaking with leading soil health and agroecology experts to examine if and how regenerative agriculture can truly deliver on its promises. 🎬 Farming, Redefined is a FoodUnfolded film that challenges you to imagine a future for agriculture— one that aims to create a healthier, more resilient planet for generations to come. 👉 Watch the full documentary here: https://lnkd.in/dmakR_DX #FarmingRedefined #RegenerativeAgriculture #SyntropicFarming #JuntosFarm #SoilHealth #ernstgötsch Credits to: Silvia Lazzaris, Arturo Vicario, Arturo Brunetti, Oliver Fredriksson, Antonio Canestri, CUT& editing & more, valentina grossi, Cait Mack, Eloise Adler, Gergo Varga, Rainer Russo, Leonardo Masoero, Ring Film, Inés Oort Alonso, Yana Pannecoucke, Arlene Barclay, Celine Willmore, Ronan Walsh, Andrés Londoño Orozco, Steve Charlton, Founder, The REAL.
