This is what urban mobility could look like in the near future... We all aim to reduce traffic jams, cut down on pollution, and make cities more accessible. In the future, drones will be used to transport people, and vertiports will soon become central hubs for this new way of travel. So? Pleasure to be at the European Parliament 📌 to present the latest #drone #Uspace & #UAM urban air mobility projects & discuss how to accelerate the scaling of drone services. The #EIH EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub Drones team supported the "Drones – Innovation to Shape Our Future Skies" event jointly organised by Jan-Christoph Oetjen MEP, Vice-President of the European Parliament, and CANSO, which was held at the European Parliament from 20 to 22 February. The exhibition presented a bold future for aviation, allowing stakeholders, policymakers & industry leaders to explore the transformative potential of drone technology & its impacts on airspace management. More info here: https://lnkd.in/e9AsXi-b 👉 Our team presented objectives and ongoing activities for 2️⃣ EUROCONTROL-led projects, #UELCOME and #EUREKA - with partners presenting another project we are involved in, #BURDI. 📍 U-ELCOME DSD Project is a three-year Digital Sky Demonstrator project coordinated by the EIH and funded by CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, in cooperation with the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking. It aims to pioneer U1 and U2 U-space services in Italy, Spain, and France. 📍 EUREKA SESAR3 Fast Track project coordinated by the EIH that aims to safely integrate #vertiport operations into European airspace. This aims at unlocking the potential for safe, secure and sustainable #UAM transportation systems, and meeting tomorrow's urban transportation needs. 📍 BURDI.eu, another SESAR Digital Sky Demonstrator project that we are contributing to, was presented by our partners. BURDI - or the Belgium-Netherlands U-space Reference Design Implementation project, to give it its (long!) official name - aims to implement a U-space airspace concept able to manage various, dense & complex #UAS operations in controlled, uncontrolled and UAM environments.

🔸 Cities need to start integrating air mobility in their urban planning processes. To manage this, they needed good information, more knowledge and better tools. AiRMOUR drastically advanced the understanding of necessary near-future actions – not only by urban communities, but also by operators, regulators, academia and businesses in order to build a more sustainable future in the lower aispace of our cities. 🔸 The EU-funded AiRMOUR project focused on researching and validating novel concepts for one of the most critical and fast-rising real-life applications of #UrbanAirMobility (#UAM): #EmergencyMedicalServices. Within the AiRMOUR project, air vehicles used for urgent medical purposes were validated in real-life demonstrations in Stavanger (Norway), Helsinki (Finland) and in Kassel, in the region of Nord-Hessen (Germany). 🇪🇺 European project : cross-border U-spaces for medical deliveries between Spain and France Innov'ATM is proud to share with you that we have been selected to deploy U-space services for the Niu.link project, part of the Interreg POCTEFA - Communauté de Travail des Pyrénées program.
