Time to take a closer look at where energy can be saved! 📉 ➡ During our #CityMission in Prague, the heating effectiveness team investigated on how energy use in public buildings could be optimized. Throughout the week, the team focused on identifying patterns of gas consumption in Prague's public buildings to identify inefficiencies. To do this, the buildings were first categorized according to their performance, unusual consumption patterns were identified and finally emission and cost saving potentials were determined. It is calculated that the average American building nowadays is over 40 years old and consumes almost 40% of the nation’s total energy and nearly 75% of its electricity. This is no surprise, as old buildings rarely have any features that promote energy efficiency. 🌱 Donatas Karčiauskas, CEO of Exergio, states that AI-based energy performance solutions in commercial properties are no threat and have already proven great results in meeting energy efficiency and sustainability targets. In case you missed our big news story earlier today - we have secured our second site in Denmark. With an initial capacity of 250MW the site will have a path to power of several hundred MW, implementing heat reuse to heat large scale greenhouses, local housing and opportunities for sustainable power production. This new mega campus, DEN02, is located in Varde, Denmark on a greenfield site of 174-hectares and will be specifically designed for data-intensive businesses. “Our DEN02 site is truly a blueprint for future data centers,” commented atNorth’s CEO, Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson “The highly energy efficient design, including its state-of-the-art heat reuse technologies, coupled with the advantageous location in Denmark and our dedication to sustainability, exemplifies innovation in our industry.
