As November approaches it can only mean one thing…#COP29 is calling and in just over a week’s time, I’m bound for Baku. I’m looking forward to representing Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA) and at #COP29, championing the wind industry's critical role in delivering the global #3xRenewables target. I’ll also be representing the Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA) , convening governments, industry and stakeholders to unlock offshore wind growth globally. As we gather at COP29 Azerbaijan the world has a unique chance to build on last year’s COP28 commitment and deliver transformative action. 🌍 I am proud to join the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA) at #COP29, championing action on the global #3xRenewables target! Storage and grids I'm especially excited to support the GRA's work on Storage and Grids, as the grids will be critical to our transition to support the fantastic amounts of VRE that will be deployed. The GRA welcomes the COP29 pledge for global storage and grids targets by 2030 and calls on governments and non-state actors to support it. Corio Generation has today joined with more than 100 international organisations and companies in endorsing an open letter calling on world leaders to deliver ambitious, specific, and actionable renewable energy targets in their national climate plans. Organised by the Global Renewables Alliance, the letter titled “Now Deliver Change” - which is published as a full-page advert in the New York Times - urges governments meeting at the United Nations General Assembly to translate commitments made at #COP28 to triple renewable energy capacity by 2030 into concrete national plans and projects. Our CEO, Jonathan Cole, will be speaking alongside other CEOs and representatives of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) this week at the inaugural Global Renewables Summit in New York.
