#PrAEctiCe is scheduled to attend the FOOD 2030 Networks Conference on Transformative Food System Innovation from Mar 5-7, 2024 in Area 42, Brussels 🇧🇪. The event will bring together farmers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, researchers & other innovators to shape the future of food. The ECO-Ready Observatory is dedicated to enhancing food system resilience by providing scenario forecasting and practical insights. Our first round of semi-structured interviews conducted by Wageningen University & Research revealed that stakeholders are eager to integrate insights from sustainable production methods, agricultural optimization, and consumer behavior trends into their activities. Many participants emphasized the importance of scenario development for predicting pathways and practices to boost sustainability. They also highlighted the need for effective communication strategies to advise other stakeholders on the value of agrifood system resilience. By fostering collaboration across the agrifood value chain and empowering diverse perspectives, we're committed to translating data into actionable knowledge. White, in collaboration with Wageningen University & Research and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), is organising an interactive co-creation workshop! 🔍 Purpose: This workshop is designed to collaboratively define user requirements for the development of the Eco-Ready Observatory. 🌍 ECO-READY Observatory: The Observatory will play a crucial role in monitoring the short-, medium-, and long-term impacts of key drivers of change on food security. It integrates Eco-Ready's key products and approaches, contributing real-time data to the food system! 💡 The workshop aims to gather unique perspectives from key stakeholders and future users of the Observatory based on mock-ups and engage in discussions of user needs/challenges, features, data/metrics and community interaction. 🌱 Our Initiative: Our goal is to allow European regulators, food producers, civil society and citizens to collaboratively test and explore holistic mitigation measures, proactively addressing climate change for a sustainable food supply and long-term security!

#SticktoThePlan #TEF2023 My admission into the Erasmus Mundus PlantHealth Master program was motivated by a vision of introducing alternative sustainable solutions into Sierra Leone's agricultural space. Upholding this value, we incorporated EntoTech - Innovations (https://lnkd.in/dc-h-7m7) focusing on insect-driven solutions such as biological control agents, protein sources, and fertilizers in March 2023. Today, I have been recognized as a @TEF alumnus for winning a grant to support our pilot project, "Insects as Protein and Fertiliser," to scale up efforts in utilising insects for converting organic waste into high-quality livestock protein and organic fertiliser, addressing soil and plant health. It's been quite challenging but productive moments for me to successfully strike a balance between academics, policy advocacy, and entrepreneurship. 🌿  On June 12, 2024, the European Economic and Social Committee hosted a public hearing on Aligning the circular economy and the bioeconomy at EU and national level . The aim?  Boost synergies between bioeconomy, circularity and sustainability through a systemic approach to the circular bioeconomy,  led by rapporteur Cillian Lohan. Blanca Casares Guillén, policy expert at AEIDL (European Association for Innovation in Local Development), presented “Circular (bio)economy: a promising pathway for sustainable farming and development in rural areas?” 🍃✨ She highlighted significant political momentum, including a flagship initiative for prosperous rural areas with actions for the development of a sustainable bioeconomy.The Council Conclusions in 2023 stressed the need to focus on rural areas in developing a bioeconomy.
