Good morning, All 👋 I want to share with you one of my activities from the past couple of weeks: I started volunteering for #GovHack as part of the Marketing team. GovHack is the largest hackathon in the Southern Hemisphere, with the objective of raising the profile of open government data. 🌐 GovHack’s mission is to: → To provide an opportunity through open data for government, citizens, and industry to collaborate, gain knowledge, and develop new skills; → To showcase open data as a mechanism for identifying and solving deep-rooted social, economic, and environmental challenges; → To impress upon Government the economic and societal value of quality, machine-readable, standardised open data; → To highlight the increasing value of open data as a tool to promote transparency, strengthen democracy, and develop trust. That’s the long explanation, but it is essentially a competition where thousands of people from all walks of life come together to work together on projects utilising open data. You don’t need coding skills to join. The teams are agile, so a variety of skills are needed to “bring the product to market.” This year’s competition takes place on the weekend of September 6th–8th. There are some great prizes to be won, and we also organise Red Carpet Awards for the winning teams. 🏅 I signed up to compete last year, but due to unforeseen personal circumstances (a bit of an understatement), I couldn’t attend. So, this year, I thought what better way to lend a hand than to volunteer? If you have any questions or would like to join, feel free to reach out anytime. And follow GovHack govhack.org for the latest news. 🔔 PS: Between, my team placed 2nd last year, so there you have it: I have good friends 😊 PS: The picture is GenAI generated. We will be sharing more official posts over the coming weeks. #GovHack #hackathon #event #opendata #datadriven

Who would you like to see as a guest speaker at Coding with Callie meet-up?! 🙋🏻♀️ If you don't have anyone specific in mind, what types of topics would you like to learn about?! 💡 #callingallguestspeakers #codingmeetup #codingchats
Last night's meet-up was super fun! I got a chance to talk about how I broke into tech through learning in public and Jeremy W. followed-up with how to advance your career once you break in 🚀 If you weren't able to attend, that's okay...I recorded the sessions 🎥 My session is up on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/ekTNid2z (I ran out of time to upload Jeremy's, so I'll post a link to his on Monday 😅) If you attended or watch the recording, comment with your takeaways for 20% off the Deploy-in-Public Challenge 💰 #learninpublic #codingwithcallie #breakintotech #entryleveldev #developer #justkeeplearning

Excited to share that I recently participated in the HackToCrack hackathon and had an incredible experience exploring new technologies and collaborating with fellow developers! During the hackathon, I had the opportunity to dive deep into cutting-edge technologies such as Prisma, UploadThing, Clerk Next.js, and Aiven. Each of these tools brought unique functionalities to the table, empowering us to develop innovative solutions and push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of tech. Prisma simplified database management, allowing us to efficiently interact with and manipulate data. UploadThing provided seamless file uploading capabilities, enhancing the user experience of our project. Clerk Next.js facilitated user authentication and authorization, ensuring the security of our application. Aiven enabled us to deploy and manage various cloud services, streamlining our development process. I'm immensely grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with my team and leverage these technologies to tackle real-world challenges. participating in HackToCrack was not only a learning experience but also a testament to the power of teamwork, creativity, and innovation in the tech community. Looking forward to applying the knowledge and skills gained from this hackathon to future projects and continuing to explore the ever-evolving landscape of technology! #Hackathon #Teamwork #LearningAndDevelopment #problemsolving #webdevelopment

From my many discussions with devrel folks in the web3 space, it’s clear that measuring success and tracking ecosystem growth is incredibly challenging. With so many moving parts—like varied engagement channels, diverse project types, and a rapidly evolving landscape—capturing the full impact of your initiatives can get super overwhelming. (Trust me, I *know*) Builders are the most valuable asset in crypto, and understanding their impact is crucial. That’s why buidlbox’s new metrics dashboard is such a game-changer! Here’s how it addresses these common pain points: 📈 Engagement Tracking: Monitor participant activity, sign-ups, and page views to gauge your outreach and engagement efforts. 🔬 Project Metrics: Track the number of projects created and submitted, and analyze conversion rates to assess productivity. 👥 Demographic Insights: Gain a deeper understanding of your community with detailed demographic data. 📊 Sentiment Analysis: Complement your quantitative data with qualitative insights into community sentiment. 🔄 Streamlined Data Management: Manage all your key metrics from a single platform for easier analysis and decision-making. If you’re curious about how this can transform your approach, check out our latest blog post 👇 #web3 #devrel #hackathons #web3data #ecosystemgrowth #ethereum
🌟 Exciting news – we’ve launched our Metrics Dashboard! 🌟 Tracking growth and measuring success in Web3 can be challenging for DevRel teams and hackathon organizers. Our new tool provides actionable insights into participation, project outcomes, and more, making data-driven decisions easier. We're delighted to announce a series of spring/summer hackathons in partnership with a range of fantastic companies! 🗓️ Cillers Hackathons Dates Spring/Summer 2024: ⭐️ Resolution Games - April 13 ⭐️ Magello Group - April 27 ⭐️ Nordicstation - May 11 ⭐️ Atea Sverige - June 8 ⭐️ Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre - August 20, as a part of Nordic Software Summit. The challenge: How To Build A Capable, Scalable, Reliable, and Secure Software System In Just One Day. Our goal is to address a universal challenge for development teams: reducing the time spent on complex, generic infrastructure to instead focus on creating unique, user-centric features. A Cillers Hackathon is an amazing forum for developers to engage hands-on with game-changing software system technologies and collaborate with peers from Sweden's leading companies. It’s a great way to stay up to date with the newest tech adopted by Apple, SpaceX, Uber, Cisco, LinkedIn, VISA, Walmart, Electronic Arts and Akamai to build their systems faster. Everyone is welcome to join, from beginners to experts, individuals, or teams. Tech experts will be on site for inspiration and support, making this event about fostering a supportive community for all. Here's what developers from our last hackathon at Stockholm School of Economics had to say: Developer at Klarna: "Had an exhilarating experience at the hackathon - felt like stumbling into the Y Combinator of the Scandinavia! Collaborated with some truly amazing individuals; the coding sessions were nothing short of inspiring." Developer at H&M: "Thanks for putting up an amazing hackathon!
