A look at the Up-Skill project with Jens von Axelson of consortium partner MITC - Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center, Sweden! 'Up-Skill: Up-skilling for Industry 5.0 Roll-out' focuses on the integration of #industry50 and human #skills integration for #manufacturing. Industry 5.0 places emphasis on the requirement for efficiency, productivity and return on investment - within the broader context of #sustainability, #resilience and human-centricity - and using #digitalisation and related, emerging #technologies to benefit industry, particularly in terms of sector productivity and robustness, workers and society. In this latest article, Jens provides an insight into both Up-Skill and MITC's current work on the project to develop a ‘do and learn’ #trainingcourse for a company that will have Industry 5.0 objectives as a focus. Self-assessment is an important part of methodology, providing both a necessary thought process for the individual in the company and a means of expressing the company’s core values. This 'start phase' will end with suggestions and an action plan for further development by the company. The Up-Skill partners with MITC are TWI's Anglia Ruskin Innovation Centre (with Anglia Ruskin University) and Joining 4.0 Innovation Centre (with Lancaster University), IRIS Technology, KNEIA SL, Mälardalen University and Università degli Studi di Milano. We have published a new position paper: "Digital Business as a Field for Research and Education" by Thomas Hess, René Riedl & Luc Becker, from LMU Munich – Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria & Johannes Kepler Universität Linz. https://lnkd.in/dcRYBAk4 Digital technologies are sparking new business opportunities and pushing established companies to rethink and restructure their business models. While multiple academic research streams have explored the potential of digital technologies for business, the findings are scattered across different outlets and communities. What’s missing is a unified approach to bring these valuable insights together. In our latest position paper, the authors propose a comprehensive integration of these research streams under the concept of Digital Business, with Digital Innovations at its core. They present a framework that: - structures the field of Digital Business, - tracks its development, and - offers three key ideas for further integration of the field. The authors aim to create a solid conceptual foundation to guide research and education in Digital Business. #InformationSystems #DigitalBusiness #Digitalization #DigitalTransformation #DigitalInnovations #ElectronicBusiness #higherEducation

“Learning to read and embrace complexity is important: choose training courses that focus on the connections between different fields of knowledge rather than mere verticality. That's right, post-disciplinarity is and will be crucial.
