Young people in the UK are having to refuse jobs because they cannot afford associated costs such as clothes and transport. A worrying statistic from a recent article in the Guardian, following a study by the Princes Trust, highlights one of the real issues young people of today are facing. Studies like this one conducted by Fiverr also show 71% of 16-25 year olds say they are planning to, or already do, work as a freelancer and 36% state that their ultimate career goal is to be their own boss. Through our fully funded Enterprise programme 'Be The Boss' we are tackling such issues head on by empowering pupils in West Yorkshire Schools to consider self-employment as a viable option alongside other conventional opportunities. So far we have: - Attended 15 career fairs and engaged with approx. 7925 students. - Completed 2 x projects for SEN schools. - Hosted information sessions at 5 different school assembly’s. Click the link to read the full article, hear what's being said about the programme and to find out more. https://ow.ly/i2wx50RjPEc

So pleased to hear that work experience for students is back! Now it's up to us employers to take them. Work from home days makes this harder but not impossible. There is nothing more valuable than work experience, onsite with an employer. With schools doing less and less commercial advising and pushing for exam results and university placements, career coaching and sampling is a big benefit. Employers, if you are approached, take a student! #workexperience #employerengagement #franklydifference
