The Alarming Education Crisis in Uttar Pradesh! Recent data from the Lok Sabha reveals a distressing scenario—over 11.7 million children across India are not enrolled in schools. Uttar Pradesh alone accounting for a staggering 7.85 lakh out-of-school students. States like Jharkhand and Assam are also grappling with thousands of children missing out on education. These numbers are more than statistics—they represent dreams deferred, potential lost, and futures at stake. Parliament's Education Minister Jayant Chaudhary responded to the question of Telugu Desham Party MP Mathukumili Shri Bharat from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh that more than 11 lakh 70 thousand students across the country are deprived of admission in schools. For the last 5 years, through our educational initiative #SabkiShiksha, we have been helping parents belonging to underprivileged categories understand about the #RighttoEducation (RTE) in school admissions. SabkiShiksha provides relevant information related to admissions in private schools through #RTEadmissions of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Delhi etc. If we talk about Delhi, we provide every information related to EWS admissions at completely free of cost. We come LIVE to answer parents' queries. We do reply to the comments received on the videos. As a result, thousands of children have been enrolled in different schools through SabkiShiksha and more than 3,25,000 parents are now part of sabkishiksha community. In Delhi, this year parents had to wait a long time for the EWS forms. Last year the forms were released on 10th February. This year, parents were very upset due to delay in forms. I wrote an article in this regard which was published on 20th April in Dwarka Express and only 4 days later, on 24th April, the Education Department of Delhi released the notification related to #EWSOnlineForms. Exploring in #Education in #India - 7 #PrimaryEducation in #India Primary education in India is divided into #LowerPrimary (Class I-V) and #UpperPrimary (Class VI-VIII). Targeting #children aged 6 to 14, the #government emphasizes #elementaryeducation under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, which mandates free education up to Class VIII and bans #child labour to keep children out of unsafe work environments. Despite efforts, enforcement is challenging due to economic disparities and social conditions. About 80% of elementary schools are government-run, making it the largest provider of #education. As of 2011, India had approximately 5.8 million #elementary #school #teachers and 2.1 million #secondaryschool teachers as of March 2012. However, many #students #graduate with poor #literacy and #numeracy skills, with only 50% of fifth-graders in rural areas able to read a Standard II-level text, and only 29% able to do basic division as of 2019. Challenges in the #educationsystem include high pupil-to-teacher ratios, inadequate #infrastructure, and insufficient #teachertraining. Efforts like the District Education Revitalisation Programme (DERP) aim to improve primary education by funding school construction and alternative education, but issues like #corruption hinder #progress. Notably, Kerala achieved 100% primary education in January 2016 through its Athulyam literacy program. The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Education for All) initiative has led to high gross enrollment ratios of 93-95% in recent years and increased female enrollment. Nonetheless, quality issues persist, largely due to teacher absenteeism and negligence, with significant percentages of teachers absent or not teaching during inspections. #learning

Back in 2000, when Uttar Pradesh was facing a teacher shortage that felt like a drought, the Shiksha Mitra program came to the rescue. These temporary teachers were like a lifeline for rural schools, filling the gaps and keeping the classrooms going. But as time flew by, the Shiksha Mitras became more than just fillers; they became an integral part of the educational landscape. Today, over a lakh of them are spread across the state, each one a beacon of hope in their own way. Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: money. Appointing Shiksha Mitras was a smart move for the government's wallet, but is it sustainable in the long run? While they've been a great support system for regular teachers, questions linger about their future and career growth. Some Shiksha Mitras are super motivated and love what they do, while others feel stuck in a rut. It's a mixed bag out there! The most important thing is the impact on students' learning. Are Shiksha Mitras making a difference? That's the million-dollar question. But we also need to think about the well-being of these educators. Should they have to meet certain qualifications or be limited to only females? These are tough questions with no easy answers. Recently, Shiksha Mitras have been making their voices heard through protests, demanding better job security and working conditions. It's a sign of their growing aspirations and determination. Amidst all the challenges and uncertainties, there's a flicker of hope. Maybe one day, the Shiksha Mitras will shed their temporary tag and become an integral part of the teaching profession. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the establishment of 28 new #NavodayaVidyalayas (NVs) in districts currently without such schools. This move is part of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme, a central initiative aimed at providing high-quality modern education to talented students, predominantly from rural areas, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds. Key Highlights of the Initiative: 🔺Budget Allocation: A total fund of ₹2,359.82 crore has been allocated for the project, covering the period from 2024-25 to 2028-29. This includes ₹1,944.19 crore for capital expenditure and ₹415.63 crore for operational expenses. 🔺Beneficiary Impact: The new schools will collectively accommodate 15,680 students, with each NV having a capacity of 560 students. 🔺They will create 1,316 permanent employment opportunities, along with numerous indirect jobs for skilled and unskilled workers involved in construction and maintenance. 🔺Local vendors and service providers will also benefit from increased demand for supplies and services. 🔺Promoting Inclusivity: Navodaya Vidyalayas have seen significant enrolment of students from marginalized communities, with girls constituting 42% of admissions, while SC, ST, and OBC students make up 24%, 20%, and 39%, respectively. 🔺Enhanced Educational Standards: These fully residential, co-educational schools offer classes from VI to XII and have been consistently recognized for academic excellence. Their students excel in various competitive fields such as engineering, medicine, civil services, and the armed forces. 🔺Alignment with NEP 2020: Almost all NVs have been designated as PM SHRI schools, serving as model institutions to showcase the principles of the National Education Policy 2020. 🔺Districts to Benefit: The 28 NVs will be spread across several states, including Arunachal Pradesh (8 districts), Assam (6 districts), Manipur (3 districts), Karnataka (1 district), Maharashtra (1 district), Telangana (6 districts), and West Bengal (2 districts). Key districts include Upper Subansiri and Lohit in Arunachal Pradesh, Sonitpur in Assam, Bellary in Karnataka, Thane in Maharashtra, and Jhargram in West Bengal. 🔺A Step Towards Educational Equity: The establishment of these new schools is expected to bridge the educational divide between rural and urban areas, ensuring that talented children from underserved regions receive opportunities on par with urban India. Empowering 25 Lakh+ Children in Madhya Pradesh through Mission Ankur✍️📚 Ensuring strong foundational literacy and numeracy skills for over 25 lakh children in Madhya Pradesh is a monumental task. However, a clear plan makes the path smoother. Aligned with the NIPUN Bharat Mission, here's how the Mission Ankur Team ensures success for every child in grades 1, 2, and 3 through the FLN initiative: Mission Ankur follows a structured three-phase plan across six workstreams: 1. Teaching-Learning and Pedagogy 2. Teacher Professional Development 3. Goal Setting and Assessments 4. Academic Mentoring for Teachers 5. Strengthened Monitoring and Governance Systems 6. Mission Enablers—such as parental engagement and the MPNP Fellowship. During Phase One (2021-24), the focus has been on design and input strengthening. In Phase Two (2024-25), the emphasis will be on output stabilization. In Phase Three (2025 onwards), the concentration will be on outcome-oriented delivery. This comprehensive approach effectively supports each child's educational journey, laying a strong foundation for future learning and development. Have you ever wondered what it takes to transform teaching-learning classrooms in primary schools, and that, too, at scale? 👉 Besides training teachers, strengthening teacher trainers and mentors in government schools is crucial for improving foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes. This enables them to conduct classroom observations and share meaningful feedback with teachers to improve teaching learning practices in #FLN. 🎯 In line with this objective, a two-day supportive supervision workshop was organised for government stakeholders- State Resource Groups (SRGs) and Academic Resource Persons (ARPs) in the Bhadohi district, Uttar Pradesh. The workshop aimed to enhance the capabilities of SRGs and ARPs in developing strategies for effective communication, classroom observation, spot assessment and collaborative supervision. Led by our academic expert team, it witnessed active participation from attendees.  👉This workshop was conducted under our project, which is being implemented in collaboration with district administration in Bhadohi and IndusInd Bank to improve learning outcomes of Grade 1 to 3 students. An increased focus on improving teaching-learning processes, strengthening academic support by block and cluster officials for teachers, implementing structured pedagogy in classrooms, and improving student assessment and remediation are the salient features of the project. “If Madhya Pradesh is arguably the heart of India then I would say tribals here, are pacemaker of that heart". Data says #tribal population constitutes almost 21% of total population of Madhya Pradesh and they are dispersed around the state along with some dense tribal population pockets. They essentially provide vibrant colors to the cultural diversity of a state and country vis-a- vis, either it is nohdora art of Gond or pithora paintings of Bhil everything is ready to captivate your expressions of awe and wonder. But, I feel extremely fortunate for knowing them closely while working for imparting quality education in tribal area of Betul and Narmadapuram District. While working for some important assignment around quality education I saw their daily life survival challenges are real. Aquiring basic necessities demands hard labour to them, and for providing their kids a institutionalised education government schools are their only resort, and those too are in a transitioning phase from quantity to quality. Where more than a dropout regular absenteeism of student is a concern, low PTR also paints a dismal picture, studetns are performing abysmally poor in science and social science, teacher training is not well boosted up to raise the motivation level of teachers. However, tribal welfare department of Narmadapuram Division is taking well account of this state of situation and they provided me with the opportunity of micro research work to record the state of education in primary and upper-primary schools of Narmadapuram Division. This work of research is poineer for this region which got submitted to concerned official as baseline report. Here I am sharing this small piece of work with my linkedln network as well.
