How to overcome anxiety disorder without medication

Please feel free to contact me by email if you would like to schedule Skype Therapy with me.

Everyone that I have worked with really benefits from the mindfulness approach that I teach for healing emotional suffering…

"The thing that distinguishes Peter’s approach from other forms of therapy is that the results are pretty much instant, but you are still working with your emotions at a very deep level (unlike, for example, CBT) so are able to create lasting change."

During these Skype sessions of Mindfulness Therapy I will teach you how to use mindfulness for healing all forms of anxiety, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder, OCD, chronic depression, and addiction recovery and other forms of emotional suffering, by using the very practical methods of Mindfulness Meditation Therapy.

This approach is remarkably effective and you will experience significant recovery after 3-4 Skype sessions with me.

Online Mindfulness Therapy is highly effective for controlling anxiety and depression without the need for anti-anxiety medications and antidepressants. It is far better to treat the underlying cause of your emotional suffering rather than just suppressing symptoms.

Mindfulness Therapy for Driving Anxiety & Phobia

A very popular request is for help overcoming a fear of driving. Driving phobias are quite common and are usually resistant to standard "talk therapy." I have developed an approach called Mindfulness-based Exposure Therapy, where I will work with you via Skype, while in your car. People really respond well to this and most see dramatic improvements after the first few sessions.

Online Anxiety Therapist via Skype

Online Therapist Specializing in the Treatment of Anxiety Disorders via Skype

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional online therapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders. I also treat depression online and I offer addiction counseling online, as well.

The psychotherapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is particularly effective for treating the underlying cause of anxiety and other emotional states like depression and OCD.

When we are working with anxiety, we need to not just talk about our emotions as in conventional "talk therapy", but we need to look at the underlying process, the process of reactive habitual thinking that creates the anxiety. Mindfulness Therapy focuses very closely on identifying these patterns of negative thoughts that generate anxiety, depression or addictions.

When we find these thoughts, we then begin the process of changing how they affect us. We do this mostly by the process of developing conscious awareness of those thoughts themselves. A thought only has power if operates habitually, out of awareness, and this is what we overcome during Mindfulness Therapy.

If you can develop conscious awareness of those reactive thoughts, then they are not able to convert into the emotion. It's like, the same as a car, if you place the car in neutral, that car can no longer move, no matter how much you press the accelerator. It's the same with reactive thoughts, they only have power if we are unaware of them and if we become identified with them, and we become overwhelmed by them, lost in those thoughts.

The second part of Mindfulness Therapy for treating anxiety disorders involves looking at the actual structure of the emotion underneath the reactive thoughts. What is the nature of that emotion? What is the internal imagery that holds that emotional imagery together?

For example, if an emotion is very intense, then the chances are that your internal picture of that emotion will be very large and very close. That's what you see internally and that's what you react to through over-thinking, or that's what your body also reacts to in the flight-or-fight type response.

When we can find this internal imagery, we can change it, using mindfulness to explore detailed changes that we can make that produce changes in the emotion. In this way we can actually reprogram that emotion, we can change it totally, we can defuse it, so that it doesn't get triggered. When we neutralize the emotion, then the reactive thinking begins to change also, because there is nothing fueling that reactive thinking.

So, these are two of the focuses of online Mindfulness Therapy that I offer via Skype. If you would like to learn more about this online therapy service, please visit my website and email me, and then we can schedule an online therapy session.

See an Online Psychotherapist via Skype for Help with Anxiety

Do please contact me if you'd like help with anxiety. If you'd like to see an online therapist for help with anxiety then go to my website and learn about the online therapy for anxiety service that I offer via Skype.

So working with an online therapist is obviously very convenient and all the studies show that online therapy is just as effective as therapy in a face to face situation in a therapist's office. There's no difference, especially if you use Skype or other video platform, so you can see each other. That's the most important thing.

So Skype Therapy is much more effective than email therapy or some form of chat format. Because when you can see each other the efficiency of communication is greatly increased and that's quite important for working with the concepts of psychotherapy that can help you overcome your anxiety.

So I teach Mindfulness Therapy, which, over the years, has proved to be immensely effective for overcoming all kinds of anxiety, whether that's a generalized anxiety disorder, whether it's obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, or whether it might be fear of driving, or any other kind of anxiety that you might be struggling with.

Mindfulness Therapy really is excellent at helping you control those patterns of habitual reactive thinking that feeds your anxiety. It is probably the best approach available.

CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy is often recommended for working with anxiety and it's quite good, but I believe Mindfulness Therapy is the next step up from CBT.

It works much more directly with thoughts and with emotions. It works on changing your relationship to thoughts and emotions rather than focusing on trying to get you to change your thoughts by some form of rational intervention.

Often that's just not so effective because your thoughts are very much emotionally charged by anxiety to begin with and it's very difficult to just try and convince yourself that your thoughts are irrational and somehow stop those thoughts from bothering you.

Mindfulness Therapy doesn't try to change thoughts by some sort of rational argument but rather it works on actually neutralizing the emotional charge of those thoughts directly by working with the emotions that fuel the anxiety thoughts.

You will see for yourself just how effective this approach is. It only takes, really, three to four sessions with me to learn how to apply mindfulness for working with your anxiety, and I will guide you in how to do this and teach you in great detail how to apply mindfulness so that you can practice by yourself working with your thoughts and with your emotions between sessions. And after three or four weeks working with me you will see tremendous changes.

How to Overcome Anxiety through Mindfulness Meditation Therapy

Mindfulness Meditation Therapy is one of the most successful psychotherapies available for overcoming anxiety disorders. It has elements of CBT but focuses much more on changing the actual process that creates anxiety and depression in the mind.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist offering Mindfulness Therapy, which is my specialty and which I talk about in my book, "The Path of Mindfulness Meditation."

If you would like to learn more about how to overcome anxiety through mindfulness meditation, do please go to my website and learn more about this unique approach to overcoming anxiety.

Mindfulness Therapy is particularly effective for anxiety and also for depression, and this is because it teaches you how to change your relationship to your emotions and to your thoughts so that you don't become so easily overwhelmed by recurring patterns of emotional reactivity or intrusive thoughts.

This is the major problem that most people face - is what we often call "rumination" or "automatic reactive thinking" that triggers the underlying emotion of depression or anxiety.

Mindfulness allows us to break free from this automatic process by making it conscious. We begin to see the thoughts as triggers and the moment we see the process happening we can stop it right there and then through becoming conscious of that trigger.

With practice you can learn to see thoughts and emotional reactions as they arise in the mind, but then you are able to stop them turning into anxiety and depression. In this way, we take the fuel away from that underlying anxiety or depression. If you stop feeding the fire of anxiety or depression then the emotion will burn itself out and healing becomes possible.

During Mindfulness Therapy we learn how to actually meditate on our anxiety or depression or other painful emotions. And, it is through this process that you begin to change the whole process that creates the emotional suffering.

If you would like to learn more about how to overcome anxiety or depression using Mindfulness Therapy, please go to my website and CONTACT ME and then we can schedule a therapy session over Skype.

Mindfulness Therapy works really well through online Skype therapy sessions. So, please go to my website and contact me.

How to Overcome Anxiety Without Medication

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I'm a professional psychotherapist and I specialize in a system of psychotherapy that I developed several years ago now, called Mindfulness Therapy. So if you're looking for an online therapist to help you overcome anxiety without using medication then I invite you to take a look at my website and then e-mail me if you'd like to ask any questions and also to schedule an online therapy session with me if this interests you.

Most people really enjoy the convenience of online therapy. And people are always looking for alternatives to medication. Medication may have its place but it's really important that you understand that medications cannot change the underlying cause of your anxiety or panic attacks. The underlying cause of anxiety, and I would say this applies to depression as well, his psychological in nature. It is primarily a subjective psychological habit that becomes established and is rapidly and easily activated by stimuli, certain factors either external factors or internal factors such as thoughts and beliefs. But the mechanism that generates the anxiety is psychological and is basically a habit. I call this the "anxiety habit" and the anxiety habit can be changed.

The most important way to change any habit is to bring more conscious awareness to it. This of course is a primary feature of Mindfulness Therapy. Mindfulness is all about developing more conscious awareness around the thoughts and emotional reactions of the mind. It's learning to see them clearly without becoming blindly attached to them, blindly identified with them, so that you become a victim of your thoughts or beliefs or other emotional reactions that may be activated in your mind.

We want to become free from the mind, basically. We want to be free from its contents. We don't want to be controlled by habitual emotional or cognitive reactions.

So developing this freedom from content of mind is a central feature of the system of mindfulness therapy that I have been working on, and it is very, very effective indeed. And most people see substantial changes within a very short time, usually no more than a few weeks once you start applying the mindfulness methods and mindfulness meditation techniques that I teach.

We have to stop running away from our habitual emotional and cognitive reactions. We need to turn things around, and this means we actually learn to meditate on the mind. This is the definition of mindfulness meditation. It is not about trying to escape the mind or divert the mind onto the breath or other more positive or neutral objects. The purpose of mindfulness meditation is to meditate on the mind and liberate yourself from those habits that cause suffering.

So if you'd like to learn more about this approach and you are motivated to overcome your anxiety without medication, then please email me and let's schedule a trial psychotherapy session.

I see clients all over North America and Western Europe and the UK and as far away as Australia and Japan. All you need is an internet connection and we can schedule a Skype Therapy session at a time that works for both of us. So if you would like to get started and you would really like to make significant changes in your anxiety, then please contact me now.
