  Market Performance Key Takeaways For The Week The market had a rough start followed by a day of hope and buoyancy on the New Year as the benchmark Nifty 50 registered close to a percent of gain in the inaugural week and closed just a little above 24000 mark.  As the markets managed to safeguard the multi-month upward sloping trendline and some data points indicate an oversold condition, 23500 is now expected to serve as immediate support and a breakout could further push it down to 23200-23000 zone while 24200-24300 is seen as immediate resistance and breakout could cause it to climb to 24500-24800. The market participants are advised to exercise caution and not to get carried away with in-between reliefs. They should ideally avoid leveraged positions. BANKNIFTY had a see-saw week and concluded with a minor loss of 0.5 percent or around 250 points as it closed a bit below the 51000 mark. While a meaningful upside potential remains unlikely unless buyers can decisively break the 51800-52000 resistance band, the 51200-51350 is expected to serve as immediate resistance while a robust support is expected at 50600.
