- This Harry Potter book with tea stains and folded corner auctioned for Rs 38 lakh - What makes it special?
A rare first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, originally bought for just 10 pounds in 1997, has sold for 36,000 pounds (approximately Rs 38 lakh) at an auction in Staffordshire, UK. The book, one of only 500 copies from the first print run, was purchased by Christine McCulloch as a gift for her son Adam. The family only realized its value during the 2020 lockdown, after reading about the rising prices of first editions.
