It is a promising nature-based solution that mitigates climate change, reverses biodiversity loss, and restores balance for nature, people and Gaia. Our new website, www.animatingcarbon.earth, is an increasingly comprehensive library of resources for anyone working at the intersection of climate action, biodiversity action, and policy. Whether you’re a rewilder, scientist, policymaker, educator, or simply passionate about creating a wild world, this platform provides: 🌟 Visual animations and explanations of Animating the Carbon Cycle in action. 🌟 Regularly updated results from rewilding action happening on the ground all over the world. 🌟 Resources to integrate the science into impactful work across disciplines, including policy guidelines. 🌟 Peer-reviewed science from some of the world’s top scientists, universities and journals. The European Commission did Not have a solid science - back to propose the downlisting of wolf protection and therefore the EU Proposal at Bern Convention (on the next week agenda of the Standing Committee) results as unlawful and it should Not be put to a vote since it is mandatory under EU law and the Bern Convention to comply with the state of the art scientific knowledge. Thank you to EURACTIV for covering the work that a group of experts, Green Impact and other small NGOs are promoting to unveil the truth about wolf conservation status in Europe and their critical role in our ecosystems. The Letter is addressed, inter alia, to key Scientific leaders of the European Commission, inclusing JRC and EU Biodiversity Knowledge Center who should have a say about the science which is put forward in EU decision- making processes. Con grande soddisfazione, Green Impact, ALI - Animal Law Italia ETS e Fondazione CAVE CANEM ONLUS accolgono la prima approvazione, alla Camera dei Deputati, nella seduta di ieri, mercoledì 20 novembre, del disegno di legge che modifica le norme del codice penale e del codice di procedura penale prevedendo nuove tutele a favore degli animali e che introduce a livello nazionale il divieto di tenere legati animali d’affezione “con la catena o con altro strumento di contenzione similare che ne impedisca il movimento” (articolo 10). Ora il testo dell’AC 30, a prima firma dell’On.le Michela Vittoria Brambilla, dovrà passare lo scrutinio del Senato prima di divenire ufficialmente legge. Brussels, 21 November 2024 – Environmental Association Green Impact, together with Great Lakes and Wetlands, denounced the lack of science-backing and a breach of democratic process stemming from the European Commission’s proposal to weaken the legal protection of the European Grey wolf (Canis lupus). The associations call on Mikaël Poutiers, the Secretary General of the Bern Convention,  not to allow a vote at the forthcoming Standing Committee December meeting.
