Excellent report on 2023 Bali's performance and the opportunity around branded residences. In summary, there are fewer branded residences in #bali than in other SEA destinations. Why? 1. Large Indonesian property groups prefer larger-scale projects in Jakarta and other urbanizing locations. 2. A restrictive environment on foreign property ownership, with a lack of transparency or consistency. 3. The costs of PMA companies to hold these assets increased over the last few years. However, as the report suggests: “there is a changing mindset of Indonesian developers to develop branded residences in Bali, and this is expected to grow to a wider scale among those seeking second or holiday homes.
