About us

JOIN4ATMP aims to accelerate European ATMP development and ensure wide-spread ATMP access while fostering the expansion of strong Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on a European level. To achieve this ambitious goal, the project will focus on three processes: categorizing obstacles to ATMP progress, mapping potential solutions based on real-world use cases and designing actionable recommendations.

🚀 7th European CAR T-cell Meeting (February 6-8) ! 🚀 We are thrilled to be at the 7th European CAR T-cell Meeting in Strasbourg from tomorrow, where our project partners will be actively contributing to key discussions and presentations! 🔹 Feb 6th: Don’t miss the poster presentation (P231) from Stefanie Winter from our project partner Medical University of Vienna, showcasing the design of a comprehensive ATMP database for mapping barriers and identifying strategies for ATMP development —a must-see! 🔹 Feb 7th: Our JOIN4ATMP coordinator Annette Künkele from chariteberlin will also take the stage, presenting JOIN4ATMP in connection with other European initiatives, fostering collaboration and networking. 🔹 Feb 7th: We are very excited about the Panel Discussion in synergy with T2Evolve consortium, featuring Antonia Mueller (@Medical University of Vienna) and Carmen Sanges, PhD (Universitätsklinikum Würzburg), for a deep dive into the future of preclinical models—covering data extrapolation, platform technology, and clinical implementation. For the first time in Europe, the #PragmaTIL trial introduces a decentralized, multi-center model where each academic hospital independently produces Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TILs) under a unified clinical protocol. Silvia Martín Lluesma, Head of Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) Advanced Therapies Program and co-coordinator of PragmaTIL, shares: “This model could shape the future of clinical trials. For this reason, PragmaTIL is currently a use case under analysis in the EU-funded project JOIN4ATMP.” This innovative trial sets a new standard in cancer research, offering a unique regulatory framework for multi-center trials within academic settings. 🇪🇺 Project funded by the EU #HorizonEU research and innovation programme. Our two-day gathering in Milan has come to a close! The lively discussions and highly productive workshops showcased an incredible enthusiasm to collaborate. Partners are not just working together—they are genuinely excited and eager to join forces to streamline ATMP access across Europe. 🚀✨ During our Annual Meeting day, #JOIN4ATMP partners came together to share project’s key progresses in identifying hurdles within clinical, economic, and regulatory frameworks preventing ATMP development. They discussed the relevance of real-world use cases and dialog with stakeholders to drive actionable recommendations, paving the way for meaningful impact. On Day 2, JOIN4ATMP partners joined the European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA) Symposium, hosted by Ospedale San Raffaele & Libera Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele. Panelists explored the ATMP framework from policy and regulatory perspectives, with Reno Debets from our partner Erasmus MC providing insights into ATMP manufacturing from an academic angle. The event was a valuable opportunity for JOIN4ATMP to shine: our coordinator Annette Künkele from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin presented the project as a proactive solution to challenges in ATMP access.
