A group of #AIDAVA and RES-Q+ ontology experts met in Freiburg on November 11 and 12, in the Averbis GmbH offices. The objective was to assess the ontologies being currently developed in both projects and how an upper level ontology – based on SIO [https://lnkd.in/ebDPGktf] and BTL2 [https://lnkd.in/egcVA7Qf] – could help solve the different issues encountered and potentially align ontologies of both projects. The team successfully drafted a “Standard Upper-Level Ontology” – called SULO - and tested its soundness and fitness, working through several examples, demonstrating the value of such an approach. Both teams will further work on testing SULO and come with recommendations on how to further use such an approach within the respective projects but also on how it could be used for other projects. The long-term aim is to agree develop methodological approach – and a supporting Upper-Level Ontology - to develop domain specific ontologies in alignment. 

Yesterday the AIDAVA Ontology Workshop took place in Freiburg, so today is a good day to read the Recap Report of last month's 4th AIDAVA General Assembly Meeting 😊 https://lnkd.in/eQ6AnRF2 As you can read, the AIDAVA (AI-powered Data Curation & Publishing Virtual Assistant) Project, which has only just entered its third year, has already made significant progress: ⚜️ 35 out of 69 deliverables have been completed and approved, with 5 out of 11 milestones successfully achieved. ⚜️ 24 deliverables have been approved by the European Commission (approval following a successful interim review). ⚜️Six face-to-face workshops and numerous work package-specific meetings have been held over the past year. ⚜️Several publications and a strong presence at international conferences have established AIDAVA as a prominent player in the field of health data curation. Maastricht University Institute of Data Science's Michel Dumontier is the PI of the project at Maastricht University, and Remzi Celebi is the Technical Coordinator. It's a recap. AIDAVA held its fourth General Assembly Meeting on AI-powered Data Curation & Publishing Virtual Assistant in Tallinn, Estonia Remzi Celebi, AIDAVA's technical coordinator, said: “The AIDAVA team has achieved the first major milestone of the project. We have developed and evaluated the first generation of our prototype. While we may still have some issues to address, the prototype already incorporates several innovative features, such as automation of data curation from various sources, data quality checks, and the generation of FHIR IPS from the integrated health record. We are confident that, together, AIDAVA will continue to push the boundaries of innovation and improve the prototype”.
