The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) launched its first all-women bus depot in Sarojini Nagar on Saturday, marking a significant step in women’s empowerment. The depot, which will operate 70 buses (40 AC and 30 non-AC), will cover 17 routes across the city. Located at the historic Sarojini Nagar depot, the initiative highlights women's growing presence in traditionally male-dominated fields. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot emphasized that the depot serves as a symbol of progress and announced plans for more women-led depots in the future. Hyderabad Metro has recently experienced a notable decline in ridership because of the 'Mahalaxmi Scheme,' which offers free bus rides to women across the state. This initiative has resulted in fewer female passengers opting for the metro, prompting concerns from Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), the company overseeing the metro operations. L&T's president, director & CFO R Shankar Raman, expressed apprehension regarding the sustainability of the project, hinting at a potential withdrawal post-2026 should the free bus ride scheme persist. In an interview with Business Today, Raman highlighted the direct impact of free bus rides on metro patronage, particularly among women. With the absence of corresponding increases in bus services, there has been a noticeable shift towards metro usage among male commuters. While acknowledging the noble intent behind the government's initiative, Raman emphasized the adverse environmental implications of excessive bus dependency, labeling it as "unsustainable." He cautioned against making financial decisions solely based on political promises, advocating for a more balanced approach to public transport planning in a city as significant as Hyderabad. #TSRTC #MahaLakshmiScheme #TSRTCBus #BusNews #CoachBuildersIndia #FreeBusRides #TransportSolutions #SustainableTransport #Hyderabad #HyderabadMetro

"Dear Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (LMRC) , customer service should prioritize empathy. Recently, I encountered a non-literate passenger at Munshipulia Station who, unaware of the exit process, mistakenly exited without completing his journey. When he asked for assistance, customer service informed him he’d need a new ticket, even though he hadn't traveled. I offered ₹50 to help, as it seemed unfair to charge ₹60 for no journey at all. Policies should support genuine cases like this. Let’s create rules that truly help commuters in need. #CustomerService #EmpathyInAction #PublicTransport #LucknowMetro #CommuterCare #Inclusion #HumanityFirst #SocialImpact"

🚚👀 We see trucks on the road every day, whether on our way to work or elsewhere. But how often do we see women behind the wheel of those trucks? Personally, I haven't seen any so far. Trucks, the lifelines of the road logistics sector, and the entire logistics industry see very few women. In 2010, women made up just 8% of the global logistics workforce. This has gradually increased to 20% by 2018. In India, women currently constitute around 15% of the logistics workforce, with projections indicating it will reach the global average of 20% by 2024, according to Mahindra Logistics. This marks a slow yet promising shift in an industry traditionally seen as masculine, labour-intensive, and unsafe for women. This situation has to change. We are discussing gender equality everywhere, so why not in the logistics sector? One woman who is breaking stereotypes and setting new milestones in the male-dominated logistics industry is Yogita Raghuvanshi, India's first female truck driver and owner of Rajhans Transport Company. Why are the number plates of all the vehicles moved from TS (Telangana State) to TG (Telangana Government)? What is happening in Hyderabad? How Is Hyderabad going to be? What will happen to Hyderabad? Will Telangana State said to be no more??? Will it merge back to Andhra Again??? The public says our CM garu shakes hands with Andhra CM garu, and is planning to merge Hyderabad back where it was before Telangana Formation, is it True? If this happens, 2nd June 2024, Telangana formation day is the last moment of celebration? Are we going to see the struggles again? so many lives have to be lost again? Since the new leaders were in places, we lost many projects, we lost IT support from countries, people again became jobless, we lost power in the mid summers n still losing power, water is not being supplied properly, many constructions are on hold.... I can tell you one incident which happened on 5th June 2024, Wednesday, we had heavy rainfall and from Jubilee hills Rd no 45 to till Hitech City, routes from Cable bridge, Gachibowli flyover, Madhapur, forum Mall, and Kondapur to Hitech City, it's highly Jam packed and we reached our offices at 9:30 PM where were were supposed to login at 4:00 PM and surprisingly I couldn't see atleast one Traffic Police handling the traffic jam.... so I understood that Government changed tho least bothered what's gonna happen in Hyderabad and Hyd public. We have lost so many ppl back then, We saw so many changes in the last 10 years, We saw amazing things Happening in last 10 years to Hyderabad and in many areas & places of Telangana. So I don't understand what happened to the public or people, "we want to see something new - new bolke, we gave our future in other's hands, that too at the very moment where there was future development. If there are amazing changes happening for the future development of Hyderabad and Telangana State then all of us are safe and the choice of Leader is perfect but if it's not then LORD save all of us!!! The above content or context is not to hurt anyone or demean anyone's choice. That's how I feel since I saw the struggle of Telangana people back then and sacrificed their life and shredded their sweat and blood for the development of it. Take care of yourself! let us all pray for our future 🙏 #telangana #Hyderabad #News #telangananews #hyderabadcurrentaffairs

It’s that time of the week again where we share one of our staff member’s response to the question, "What do you find most rewarding about working with Project Abhay?”. "These drivers often feel isolated on the road. Here, they can connect, share experiences, and build friendships." Beyond providing essential services like health check-ups and skill development, our campsites are becoming hubs of camaraderie for these often-solitary individuals. By fostering a sense of community, we're not just improving their physical well-being but also their mental health. It's a privilege to witness these connections form and strengthen. Our staff are the essential catalysts in creating an environment where these truck drivers feel cared for. Let's work together to uplift these essential workers and create safer roads for all. Commuters traversing the two operational Metro lines in Pune are facing hurdles in achieving seamless connectivity due to incomplete stations at Khadki, Yerawada, and Range Hills. While the Yerawada station is expected to become operational next month after finalising its exit-entry point adjustments, the Khadki station requires an additional four months for completion. Similarly, the Range Hills station's readiness is anticipated to take at least a year, pending necessary clearances from the defence authorities. Consequently, commuters bound for these areas must disembark at alternative stations like Bopodi or Shivajinagar for Khadki and Range Hills, and Bund Garden or Kalyani Nagar for Yerawada, exacerbating inconvenience. Transport activists have criticised the delays, attributing them to a lack of coordination among government agencies and inadequate planning. Many stations along the operational Metro lines still lack sufficient entry and exit points, further complicating the commuting experience for passengers. With commuters, particularly IT professionals and airport travellers, eagerly awaiting the completion of these stations, officials remain optimistic about overcoming the remaining hurdles to ensure smoother connectivity in the near future. #saudaghar #saudagharscoop #realestate #realestatenews #pune #punekars #punenews #punenews #saudagharnews #punemetro #rangehills #yerwada #khadki #kalyaninagar

A few weeks back, a video surfaced on social media of an old farmer who was denied entry into the Bengaluru Metro because apparently, his clothes were too dirty to enter the air-conditioned metro. He had a ticket. He was not carrying anything illegal. But he was still stopped by the metro workers. Why? Apparently, he was deemed "too dirty" to enter the air-conditioned Metro. The security folks claimed other passengers would be offended just by seeing him. Yet, ironically, those very passengers they thought would get offended stepped up to defend the old farmer, arguing for him to be allowed into the Metro. I got so mad when I saw the video, but then I realized how much of a problem this is in India. We talk about how rich and diverse our Indian culture is, and yet we idolize the west just because it appears more fancy. This incident is making me more and more confident that the Developing modern India is not for Indians. It is for people who act like Westerners. More Precisely; It demands the people to act like Westerners. You want to know what's funny about this incident? The station's name is Namma Metro, which translates to "Our Metro" in Kannada. Why are we still blaming the Britishers for the inferiority complex that we have even after 75 years of Independence? ...... Follow Soham Mehta #India #Inclusion #SocialJustice #Society
