🏆🏆🏆 Exciting News from Power for All! 🏆🏆🏆 We are proud to announce that our #Utilities2.0 (U.2.0) project has received the prestigious Reuters Events’ Global Energy Transition 2024 (#GET24) Socially Responsible Project award! This award recognizes the innovative approach to merging centralized grid infrastructure and decentralized renewable energy sources, which has significantly accelerated cost-effective electrification and improved livelihoods in rural Africa. Kristina Skierka, CEO, Power for All, said, “This award is a testament to the power of partnership. The project’s success is the result of the unwavering dedication and innovative spirit of our partners.” A special thank you to our implementation partners EnerGrow, Equatorial Power Ltd., East African Power, and Umeme Ltd! who made it all possible. And most importantly, to the #Kiwumu community in #Uganda who embraced the productive use of energy (#PUE). The project exemplifies public-private innovation by uniting energy companies to accelerate and economize electrification, enhancing rural African livelihoods and advancing the fight against energy poverty. In Kiwumu U.2.0 made generation and delivery more economical, slashing connection costs by 26%, dropping the levelized cost of energy by 75%, and doubling the customer lifetime value. More importantly this transformation has had profound socio-economic benefits -- enabling schools and health clinics to operate longer, allowing businesses to offer extended services, and transforming Kiwumu from a pass-through into a destination. The project took a virtual village. We want to thank all our partners for their dedication and commitment to making it such a success: Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA), CLASP, CrossBoundary Group, Duke University, ENGIE, Equatorial Power Ltd., Uganda’s Electricity Regulatory Authority, The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), Makerere University, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (Uganda), Nithio, NXT Grid, Open Capital, The Rockefeller Foundation, Rocky Mountain MicroFinance Institute, Uganda Off Grid Energy Market Accelerator, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and ZOLA Electric. #PowerForAll #RenewableEnergy #SustainableDevelopment #EndEnergyPovertyFaster #InnovationInEnergy #SDG7

Thank you very much GOGLA for the mention! This grant from Efficiency for Access is pivotal in our strategic journey, enabling us to accelerate the development of high-efficiency AC motors. These motors will not only enhance our current offerings but also pave the way for deploying agri-processing machinery in minigrids and standalone renewable energy systems. Historically, inefficient and high inrush currents of induction motors have posed significant challenges in operating agricultural and food processing machinery. Our innovative AC motors address this issue, representing a significant win for both agriculture and renewable energy! It was an honor to share these advancements with Carlos Sordo and Brenda Luisa Marbaniang during their visit earlier this year. We're thrilled to report that our aspirations are becoming a reality. We eagerly anticipate continued collaboration within the GOGLA PURE Working Groups. Together, let's propel the Productive Use of Renewable Energy forward! #RenewableEnergy #Agritech #EfficiencyForAccess #Innovation #Agriculture #CleanEnergy #GOGLA #PURE #ProductiveSolarSolutions #EnergyEfficiency #Minigrids #AgriProcessing

🌟 Local Innovation, Global Impact 🌟 At Renewvia, we are continually inspired by the power of local initiatives to drive significant global impact. A prime example of this is our partnership with Yelele, a remarkable mini-grid owned and operated by Francis Ngimusia, a visionary entrepreneur from Turkana, Kenya. 🌍 Under Francis' leadership, this cornerstone of community development and empowerment in Turkana has become more than an energy provider; it's a source of pride and progress for the local community. This impactful project is supported by the generous funding from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, AECF, KKCF - Kakuma Kalobeyei Challenge Fund, IFC - International Finance Corporation, an Agence Française de Développement, whose contributions have been pivotal in bringing renewable energy solutions to underserved communities. 🌱 As part of our recent transaction with SteelFab, Inc., we are thrilled to include Mini-Grid Carbon Credits (MCCs) generated by Yelele. These credits are certified through Renewvia's rigorous processes, adhering to international standards while supporting grassroots renewable energy projects. 💡 Francis’ dedication to sustainable energy solutions and community upliftment exemplifies the potential of local enterprises to contribute meaningfully to global sustainability goals. By integrating these projects into the broader carbon credit market, Renewvia helps ensure that local heroes like Francis receive the recognition and economic benefit they deserve. 🤝 We are proud to support Yelele and are committed to empowering similar initiatives across the globe. It's through partnerships like these that we can turn local action into worldwide impact, one community at a time. #solarprogress #sdg7 #renewableenergy #renewableinvestment #cleanenergy #carboncredits #SteelFab #steelfabrication #corporatedecarbonization #kenya #minigrids #ruralelectrification #energyaccess #offgridsolar

Critical and impactful initiative that will help alleviate the energy poverty (in 2020 only 48% of SSA had access to electricity) and pollution (air pollution is the 2nd largest cause of death in Africa).
⚡ Expanding access to #cleanenergy in sub-Saharan #Africa has the potential to transform the lives of millions of people across the region. With greater access to reliable, renewable, and affordable power as a primary objective, we are delighted to announce the launch of the ‘Swarm-e Leave No One Behind: Bottom-Up Energy Transformation of Last-Mile Communities’ project. 💡 This pioneering initiative, co-funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe programme, aims to revolutionise clean energy access in sub-Saharan Africa to provide last-mile communities with decentralised, decarbonised, locally owned energy infrastructure. BwB is part of a project consortium, which includes European and African research institutions and private sector partners, that will work directly with local communities in Tanzania and Rwanda. "This project will employ innovative and impactful technological and financial solutions to an area of critical importance for improving economic and social well-being in sub-Saharan Africa.” commented Chris Smith, BwB Managing Director. “We are excited to get started with this transformational initiative.” Reginald Asare (BSc, MSc, MBA, CEIM) Shelmith Theuri, Wanjohi Theuri Gift Nhlane Violette Chanza-Santhe Alsen Ndaruhutse, MSc, MME, PMP®, Prince 2®, MEAL DPro Yves TUYISHIME Nehru Pillay Tomas Sales Danny O. In the words of Mark Zuckerberg, 'Ideas don’t come out fully formed. They only become clear as you work on them. You just have to get started.' This powerful reminder challenges the myth of the eureka moment and underscores the value of beginning—even without all the answers. In a world that often glorifies the end result, it's crucial to remember that every big vision starts with a single step, and every complex problem was once just a seed of an idea waiting to be nurtured. Let's embrace the journey of innovation with the understanding that it's okay to be misunderstood, criticized, or even called crazy. After all, the fear of making mistakes should never outweigh the potential to make a difference. #Innovation #StartNow
