🌍 In a significant development for the global energy landscape, a recent report by energy think tank Ember reveals that more than 30% of the world's energy now comes from renewables, marking a major turning point. This growth, fueled by wind and solar expansions, is driving a decline in fossil fuel power, deemed 'inevitable' by experts. 🔆 Leading this transition is the European Union, with 44% of its energy generated from renewables. Early adoption and proactive policies like the European Green Deal have positioned the EU as a global clean energy leader. Countries like Greece, Hungary, and the Netherlands are also making strides in solar integration. 🌬️ Solar energy emerged as the world's main electricity supplier last year, with initiatives like REPowerEU accelerating adoption in the EU. Despite challenges like drought affecting hydropower, the trajectory points towards a decline in fossil fuel generation and emissions. 📈 Key enablers like high-level policy ambition and flexible solutions will be crucial in unlocking the full potential of solar and wind energy. Exciting times are upon us! 🌱☀️ The clean energy sector in the US is experiencing remarkable growth, with a 28% increase in grid-scale clean power installations in just the first quarter of the year. Leading the charge, solar energy has achieved an extraordinary milestone, breaking past the 100GW mark of total capacity. With solar power contributing a whopping 4.56GW, it's clear that renewable energy is not just a viable option, but a powerhouse driving the nation's energy future forward. 🌞 The sparkle doesn't stop there - in strides with the wind in its sails, onshore wind delivered 449MW, battery storage added 447MW to the grid, and let us not forget the trailblazing offshore wind sector, which has contributed a considerable 132MW. The highlight in this sea of renewable riches is the South Fork project off Long Island, New York States. An 11-turbine giant, it stands strong as the largest US offshore project commissioned to date - a beacon of innovation in clean energy. 🌬️💡 Though third in the historical rankings for the quarter, these numbers are a testament to the unstoppable momentum of clean energy innovation. The future is brighter, literally and figuratively, as we witness this transformative journey toward a more sustainable, green-energy-driven economy. What initiatives would you love to see to further bolster this green revolution? 💬✨ #RenewableEnergy #CleanPower #SolarSuccess

The wind industry is booming! 🚀 A new report by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) reveals that 2023 was a record year for wind installations, with a staggering 117 gigawatts of new capacity installed globally. This represents a significant 50% increase from 2022, with China leading the way, followed by the United States, Brazil and Germany. The report highlights the critical role of strong market frameworks in driving this growth. However, it also sounds a cautionary note, urging the industry to triple its annual growth rate to meet ambitious climate targets. That’s a wrap for the 10th Australian Wind Industry Summit 2024. As Australia heads towards the Federal Government’s target of 82 per cent renewables by 2030, it’s a critical time for the onshore and offshore wind industries, with their crucial role in the energy transition. It’s been an inspiring summit, held for the first time across two days, with passionate and knowledgeable discussions and a record breaking 700 attendees being part of the conversations that matter across the onshore and offshore wind industries and our clean energy future. In our session on the future of the national electricity market, Tim Nelson, EGM of Energy Markets, Iberdrola Australia Services, said “Policymakers need to embrace markets rather than be afraid of them. The time is now to embrace renewable energy markets.” In the Asset Management and Operations session, Ali Hadigheh from The University of Sydney showcased the university’s innovation in recycling methods for fibre-reinforced polymer composites used in turbine blades, saying, “recycling is a critical issue for many industries, including renewables.” We look forward to you joining our two wind events in 2025, with the Australian Onshore Wind Industry Forum taking place on 6 May and the Australian Offshore Industry Forum on 3 June. Mark them in your calendars. #AWIS2024 #cleanenergy #renewableenergy #windpower

Offshore wind expansion persists in the relentless pursuit of climate targets. The global offshore renewable energy industry is experiencing a surge, poised to make monumental strides in the years ahead. We are fortunate that the world abounds with renewable energy sources, awaiting efficient and responsible harnessing. Renewables, by their very nature, are virtually boundless and self-replenishing. Encouragingly, the capacity of renewable energy to generate electricity continues its ascent. Data from Statista reveals that by 2023, wind power accounted for over 7% of global electricity generation, marking a significant leap from a mere 1.64% share in 2010. This trajectory underscores the rapidly expanding role of renewables in meeting the world's energy demands while simultaneously addressing environmental concerns. #GreenFuture #SustainableInvesting #SustainableLiving #GreenLiving #cleanenergyfuture #investing #sustainableenergy #Sustainability #cleanenergy #ClimateChange #GoGreen #investments #climatesolutions #green #renewable #CleanEnergyRevolution #gogreen #investment #InvestmentOpportunity #lifestyle #WindPower #investinyourself #offshore #windpower #windmill #climatechange #renewableenergy #RenewableEnergy

The Future of the Energy Market: A Focus on Renewables The global energy market is set for substantial growth, driven by increasing populations and expanding economies. However, the most significant change lies in the evolving energy mix, which is shifting decisively toward cleaner and more sustainable options. Renewable energy sources—such as solar, wind, and hydropower—are expected to grow rapidly and become the dominant players in the energy sector. While fossil fuels will still contribute to the global energy mix, especially in countries that currently rely heavily on them, their significance is projected to decline over time. This transition marks a critical step toward a more sustainable future, where renewable energy will play a central role in powering our world. The momentum is clear: the energy market is increasingly turning green, and the future belongs to renewables. #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #FutureOfEnergy #DontGetDistracted
