Where to get Online Mindfulness-based Therapy
Online Mindfulness-based Therapy, available via Skype, is an effective choice for managing anxiety, depression and stress.
Mindfulness Therapy teaches you how to overcome the reactive relationship we have with difficult emotions and thoughts. This is essential because that reactivity is what feeds emotional suffering. Thinking is not the cause of suffering if you do not identify and attach to those thoughts. It is this habitual reactive identification that is the problem and this is what we can overcome through the methods taught during Mindfulness Therapy.
When you build a non-reactive relationship with painful emotions such as occur in anxiety and depression then you create the right conditions for healing, and healing will take place spontaneously as long as you remain mindful in your relationship to those emotions. Mindfulness is said to create a "therapeutic space" in which healing happens.
Online Mindfulness Therapy is very effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, addiction and for stress management and stress reduction.
Mindfulness Therapy teaches you how to work with your thoughts and emotions through the application of mindfulness and compassion.
The main factor that prevents recovery from anxiety and depression and other forms of emotional suffering is the negative internal relationship we have with our thoughts, beliefs and painful emotions, based on aversion and avoidance.
Mindfulness Therapy, which is the practical application of Buddhist psychology, focuses on changing the internal relationship you have with your thoughts and emotions to a relationship based on conscious acceptance, compassion and intuitive wisdom, all of which are considered essential for recovery from anxiety and depression.
This approach is significantly different from clasical "talk therapy" and counseling, which may provide temporary relief from acute psychological problems but often does not heal the underlying cause of your suffering.
Online Mindfulness Therapy gives you the tools to promote healing, recovery and wellbeing and most people see dramatic changes after a few online therapy sessions.

Online Mindfulness based Therapy via Skype for overcoming Anxiety and Depression without using Drugs
Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I provide online mindfulness-based therapy for overcoming anxiety and depression without using drugs.
So drugs may have usefulness in extreme circumstances for managing symptoms but, of course, that's all the drugs are able to do. They do not treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression or OCD or any other psychological problem.
The underlying cause for anxiety and depression is psychological. It's the result of certain unconscious habits that have become established. These habits are triggered by various factors maybe internal factors like thoughts and memories. It can be external factors such as a phobia for example around driving.
So the external site of a highway or being stuck at a cross section red light can be a trigger that triggers this underlying habit that creates the anxiety or a panic attack.
We do this in Mindfulness Therapy by actually developing conscious awareness, that's mindfulness, around these habits because typically the habits simply become unconscious; they become reactive, they become conditioned and they operate out of consciousness. So the first step must be to bring consciousness back to see those habits very clearly to be able to identify the triggers, whether that's internal thoughts or memories, maybe traumatic memories, or whether it's external triggers.
So we learn to sit with these emotions and with the thoughts that are triggers and not become lost in them and not become overwhelmed. So this is a training process, and mindfulness meditation is fundamentally a training process. Retraining yourself on how to relate to your thoughts and emotions and memories without becoming identified.
The second part of our mindfulness meditation process for healing anxiety and depression is to look at the internal structure of your emotions, and that internal structure is almost always based around imagery. Internal psychological imagery is the primary organizing force that keeps anxiety depression in place. The reactive thoughts, they feed the anxiety, but the anxiety itself is maintained through internal imagery.
So this is how emotions heal. They will have to undergo some form of image transformational reprocessing in order to fully heal, for the emotional content to really change. So we basically speed up this process by really examining that imagery in detail and then exploring in great detail how to change the imagery and find what it is that helps the imagery and the emotion resolve itself and heal.
So working with imagery is extremely important. It's a fundamental part of mindfulness-based psychology and psychotherapy.
If you would like to learn more about online mindfulness-based therapy for overcoming anxiety and depression and OCD and also for working with PTSD then please do contact me and let's schedule a Skype Therapy session.
So I offer therapy via Skype worldwide. All you need is an Internet connection and we can schedule our Skype Therapy sessions. Skype Therapy is very effective, in general, because you can see each other. It's many times more effective than chat-based therapy or email therapy because those don't have this visual component.
If you use Skype and you can see each other there is really no difference whatsoever in the effectiveness of online therapy compared to meeting a therapist in person. And in many cases I would argue from my experience that Skype Therapy can be more effective because it is much more comfortable for you. It's less intimidating. It has less that clinical feel to it which is not good because it makes you feel like a victim. And that's not going to help the process of recovery.
So especially if you're suffering from an anxiety disorder, Skype Therapy is a very good choice for you to consider.
So please contact me if you'd like to get started with me. Most of my clients see results in a very short time. Often after three or four sessions people see and experience big changes in the intensity of their anxiety and depression. They feel much more empowered, much more able to do things that they weren't able to do before. They feel more in control. That's the whole aim here is to restore that sense of being in control of your happiness and well-being.
Benefits of Online Therapy - Talk to a Therapist Online
There are many benefits to Online Therapy and being able to speak with a therapist online. Convenience is one of the clear benefits, especially for people living abroad or in rural areas.
Another benefit of online therapy and counseling is that most people find it much more comfortable than office visits, and there have been studies showing that people see significantly better results with online therapy when compared to office-based psychotherapy, especially if they are suffering from an anxiety disorder.
Welcome! My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional psychotherapist and I specialize in mindfulness-based psychotherapy, which I offer online via Skype.
Online therapy is becoming very popular, and there are many distinct benefits to online therapy. Convenience is certainly one of the main benefits of online therapy, but other benefits are that it is generally much more comfortable for you, the client. It's much less intimidating than going to a therapist's office, and this is very important, indeed, especially if you are suffering from anxiety, social anxiety or other form of general anxiety. Feeling comfortable is extremely important to help you work with that anxiety, so the online therapy option has district benefits for people suffering from anxiety.
The other benefit of online therapy is that it allows you not only the right therapist to work with, but allows you to find different styles of psychotherapy than may be available in your local area. For example, many people come to me because they are particularly interested in Mindfulness Therapy, which is my specialty and that's what I offer online.
Mindfulness Therapy is a very effective way of working with anxiety, depression, and addictions, too. It helps you, basically, break free of those patterns of reactive thinking that keep you imprisoned within anxiety or depression. It allows you to change the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression or addiction by allowing you to form a healing relationship with your anxiety or other emotions that helps transform that underlying cause. This is a unique feature of Mindfulness Therapy, and is one of the reasons why Mindfulness Therapy is becoming so popular.
If you are interested in learning more about Mindfulness Therapy and you would like to schedule an online therapy session, please visit my website and email me, and then we can find a time that works for you and schedule an online therapy session via Skype. Best Online Therapy uses Skype
There are now many online therapy sites to choose from that are offering some form of counseling or coaching or psychotherapy. The online therapy option is, of course, very convenient for people because it means that you can conduct your therapy session from the comfort of your home or your office or wherever you are, and you can have a therapy session with your therapist at a time that is convenient for you.
If you are living abroad, then, of course, working through some online therapy service is going to be very convenient indeed. So, it's certainly worth considering, looking at various online therapy websites to find one that serves you best. They are very different in quality, some are basically just directories that will put you in touch with a therapist, and others are really high quality, offering you really effective help for managing whatever emotional difficulties you are experiencing.
During the online therapy sessions that I offer I will be helping you learn much more effective ways of managing anxiety and depression using the very practical methods of Mindfulness Therapy, which I developed some years ago, now.
These techniques of Mindfulness Therapy are designed to help you change the actual process that creates anxiety and depression. This is quite different than conventional talk therapy, or counseling. I want to help you break free from those underlying psychological habits that cause your anxiety or depression or addiction.
We do this by focusing on changing the way that you relate to your emotions. This the most important first step in Mindfulness Therapy. Most of the time we are simply overwhelmed by our emotions. We are not aware of our emotional habits and whenever they get triggered we simply become identified with our emotions or thoughts or beliefs, and then we act them out. It's an automatic process that gets triggered and this is what we aim to change during our online mindfulness therapy sessions.
I will teach you how to become more aware of these emotional habits and how to break free from them through changing your relationship to your emotional habits. The trick is to see them as basically objects that arise in your mind, without becoming identified with them.
Just because a habit gets triggered does not mean that we have to become that emotion or that thought. We can see the thought or the emotion as an object. We can observe the emotion or thought without becoming identified with it, without becoming controlled by the emotion or thoughts that arise.
So, this is learning to develop what is sometime called emotional tolerance or, what I call, gaining independence from the content of mind. You can learn to observe the contents of mind without becoming identified with them.
This is a very important step that we learn during mindfulness therapy sessions, because when you can become independent from your thoughts and emotions, then you create a space in which you can begin to change those thoughts and emotional habits. You can begin to change them and effectively neutralize them through developing more conscious awareness and choice.
So, this is one aspect of Mindfulness Therapy. If you would like to learn more about how to overcome difficult emotions, please go to my website, the link is below, and email me and then we can schedule a Skype therapy session.

Best Online Psychotherapy for Anxiety and Depression
Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I offer online therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression and addictions and other common psychological emotional problems.
Now the best online therapy is going to be one that teaches you how to change your relationship to your emotions and to reactive thoughts that feed those emotions. It is very important indeed that you learn how to break the habit of what is called reactive identification.
This habit's is what really feeds anxiety and depression and it's the process whereby we become identified, that is we become overwhelmed or completely consumed by thoughts or other forms of emotional reactions that get triggered in the mind. A thought by itself does not cause anxiety, but when you become identified with the though or begin to react against the though with aversion and avoidance or other emotional reactivity, then that thought feeds the anxiety.
So the first stage of changing the psychological process that creates anxiety or depression is to break this habit of reactive identification. You learn to see thoughts that arise without becoming overwhelmed by them. And this is what I specialize in teaching during these online therapy sessions. I utilize mindfulness therapy, a system that I developed many years ago specifically for this purpose, to help you break free from the habit of reactive identification.
If you'd like to learn more about online therapy, please go to my website and then e-mail me. We can schedule an online therapy session at a time that works for you. So if you're interested in the best online therapy option, I strongly recommend you to consider online mindfulness therapy. Thank you.
Online Mindfulness Therapy Client Testimonials
Online Mindfulness Therapy is an attractive option for many people because it is so convenient. Research and personal experience shows that Online Psychotherapy can be very much more effective than traditional Office Sessions because people feel much more comfortable and at ease when conducting their session from their home. This is important.
Online Mindfulness Therapy focuses on changing the way you relate to your emotions – from avoidance and resistance to acceptance and openness – this is essential for healing and lasting change. Fighting or avoiding painful emotions only makes things worse.
This is what clients are saying about their experiences with Online Counseling and Mindfulness Therapy
Below are testimonials from actual clients who I have worked with via Online Skype Therapy sessions using Mindfulness Therapy. I have indicated where they live, but for confidentiality reasons I cannot disclose their names. Privacy is an important consideration in psychotherapy, whether in-person or online.
Most of the clients I work with notice dramatic improvements within 3-4 sessions. Mindfulness Therapy is generally much more efficient that older style “talk therapy” because it works on changing the underlying reactive processes that generate and feed anxiety, depression, anger, stress and addictions.
Significant help overcoming anxiety and phobia
“Hello Dr. Strong,
I wanted to get my testimonial out to you before the start of the New Year because right around this time many people are looking for support to make major changes particularly around their mental health so possibly my experience with you can encourage them your way.
I overcame a 20 year phobia after working with Dr. Strong in under 9 months during Covid-19 remotely.I went to countless providers and tried several different therapeutic modalities from cognitive behavioral therapy to medication with no or lasting results. I didn’t want to give up, but it seemed too emotionally painful to keep trying and the pandemic seemed to be exacerbating my condition. After encouragement from a friend, I decided to keep pressing forward and on to something nontraditional and that decision led me to look into Dr. Strong’s Mindfulness Therapy. Mindfulness meditation has been transformational in the sense I learned to give compassion to my emotional reactivity rather than judgement which in actuality caused the anxiety to persist. Viewing my anxious emotions in my mind’s eye from a distance brought forth a buoyancy and strength I never knew I possessed.I am eternally grateful to Dr. Strong for his patience, guidance and support to help me develop a skill that not only helped me find myself again but become an even better version.” – Mary, NC 12/2021

Anxiety & PTSD
“You’re the only person I know who knows this!” That’s what I said to Dr. Peter Strong as we were ending our 3rd session together…
He has taught me what mediation is meant to be, which is a bold statement, but after meditating for 18 years (in addition to the fact that I’m a mindfulness coach), what I’ve gained in these few sessions is more precious and valuable than anything this world can offer: transformative inner-wisdom and deep inner peace (in other words, he guided me to connect with my true essence).
You can’t even imagine how content and fulfilled you’ll be on the other side of your journey with him, and I say that as someone with a history of chronic anxiety (including PTSD) after an extraordinarily violent childhood, so I honestly believe he will help you; my friends are remarking that I’m very peaceful, and a “higher part of you is showing up.”
Precisely.

Working with him is a gift and he’s a rare find. He cares about relieving suffering, as do many of us who go into mindfulness coaching, but authentic teaching of how to become mindful is missing in the West; why else would we go from book to book, one healer/coach after the next, and one course after another? So much needless suffering and seeking, without finding, when many of us know that being in the present moment without judgement is the answer, yet we’re constantly searching for how to get there.
I am deeply grateful for the skills he’s taught me, the pervasive peace and bliss I have now during meditation, and the ability to transform and heal my mind without seeking outside help any further… To paraphrase my favorite mindfulness book: “There is nowhere to go, there is nothing to teach, there are no books to read,” but if you’re like me you’ve been searching for over 30 years because you KNOW something is missing, and Dr. Strong helped me find it.
He guided me to the missing piece/peace and in just 2 weeks of working with him, I have now finally retired from being a personal development junkie. Thank you, Dr. Strong, for taking me to the top of the mountain.
May Dr. Peter Strong and his work continue to impact many for the relief of suffering, and contribute towards the conscious awakening of all beings.” Olivia, California March, 2023
Working with OCD
“I can’t write enough how grateful I am that I had a chance to learn how to take control of my overwhelming OCD symptoms under the guidance of Peter. Let me begin by saying that my flareups is something that I was unsuccessfully dealing with for good 10 years of my life. My OCD was like a bully, it seemed like it always found the thing that would frighten me the most and just grasp onto it for weeks. Completely taking me away from my family, friends and everything I did and enjoyed. It went from me being unreasonably jealous and insecure in my relationships to health scares to harm thoughts to feelings that I was becoming psychotic and the last and most debilitating one – a fear of losing control and self harming. I had dozens of compulsions without realizing, my attention, short term memory and focus were nearly gone.
For about 2 weeks before the initial session I felt depersonalized, derealized and anxious the whole time. My intrusive thoughts would preoccupy me for 95% of the time and I just felt like this time I really had to learn how to either control my emotions and not live inside my thoughts or go into the hospital and ask to be put on medication. Let me also add that never in my life would I consider “meditating” on my intrusive thoughts.
After just three sessions with Peter my OCD’s strength was cut in half, and then a few more sessions – it no longer had control over me. Even if intrusive thoughts came back they did not cause any or very little anxiety. My sleep got 1000% better, appetite came back. With that being said I feel like I finally realized how to connect with my true self, became more social, emotionally available, friendly, compassionate, composed and just aware of my body and my feelings so much more than I ever did. The things that would make me upset, seem like such a non-significance now.
I know that there are still going to be many great and bad days going forward but knowing the practice of Mindful Meditation I am no longer anxiously waiting for my OCD to flare up. I will be always grateful that I found out about Peter Strong and Mindful Meditation and will recommend his therapies to everyone who is going through tough times.” – Vlad, Chicago

This really helped me overcome my driving anxiety
“I have been dealing with highway driving anxiety for about 12 years. I has been truly painful as it has kept me from doing activities I love such as traveling for leisure and work, visiting friends, or doing local exploring. In the past, when getting on the highway I would break out into a sweat instantly and panic; not what anyone should be doing on a highway. For years I have been looking for solutions which I often stopped because I scared that I would have drive on the highway to solve my ‘problem’ and also embarrassed.
I found Dr. Strong’s site via the internet and it has helped me incredibly. He has provided me with mindfulness tips and tools that are practical and have given me the confidence I needed to start driving on the highway. It is truly amazing what happens when you are my kind to yourself, your fears, and learn about your true self. In addition to decreasing my driving anxiety I have noticed that I am translating these learned skills to other areas of my life.
I have my first big road trip coming in a couple of weeks and I am excited for not only journey but also for ones to come in the future.” – Amy, New York

Stuck with Generalized Anxiety
“I had been stuck in another bout of intense generalized anxiety for several months when I found Peter. His website states that people experience significant results after 3-4 sessions. Well, after just 2 sessions I was 80% back to normal. I realize now that so much of my anxiety has been contraction against thoughts, feelings and sensations. So Peter’s teaching me to welcome them and create a relationship with them was exactly the right “medicine” to bring me out of that contraction and back into the flow of my life. And a really wonderful thing is that I’m not afraid of the anxiety returning any more because now I know how to work with it. Beyond healing the anxiety, my whole inner landscape is changing. I’m learning that the self-criticism, shame and doubt I have been stuck in for so long can all be met with compassionate awareness and brought to resolution. I’m starting to feel the joy Peter talks about and a real tenderness toward myself and others.
I have practiced working with difficult emotions with many wonderful Buddhist teachers, including Pema Chodron and Adyashanti. Peter taught me aspects and nuances that were completely new to me that are making a huge difference and allowing me to meet and heal these parts of myself more efficiently and actually with less distress. Sessions with Peter are enjoyable – he is kind and patient and gentle. I love that the understandings I’m gaining in the sessions not only help me to heal my emotions but also contribute so much to my spiritual path.” – Judith, California.

Anxiety and Depression – Medications didn’t help
“Hi Peter. I purposefully waited a few months to give you my review because I wanted to be sure it was something that was going to be lasting. And it sure is!
I have been on anxiety and depression medications since my teenage years. I am now 32. The last 2 years after the birth of my second child have been extremely difficult, filled with such tremendous anxiety and depression that the medications were no longer helping. I came to Peter desperate, my last hope. I had tried other therapies that failed me: Peter’s approach is just what I needed. Instead of fighting the anxiety and trying to push it away or cover it up, you become conscious of it and give it the space that it needs. Eventually it dissipates. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it is the key… and it works! I am real proof. I am now happier and more content than I have ever been in my life. I am relating to everything in a more conscious and accepting way. Forcing solutions and trying to control did not work for me. I am no longer living in fear and desperation. Best investment I have ever made. Thank you Peter!” – A. CT USA.

Psychotherapist benefits from Mindfulness Therapy
“I have been a psychotherapist, lecturer, and administrator of
substance abuse facilities through the years. I specialize in
experiential depth therapy and transpersonal psychology, have been
quoted in Newsweek on the impact of alcoholism in the family, and in
general have had a successful career. However, I personally have
struggled with an eating disorder throughout my life and in spite of
multiple bouts of intensive therapy, depth spiritual work, and
involvement in self help programs, I could not seem to “get better” in
the long term. I found Peter’s website serendipitously and I can
honestly say that I have had excellent results in six sessions utilizing
Peter’s approach which, while based in the teachings of the Buddha,
are fully compatible with any religion or philosophy. In fact, I would
venture to say that it would have taken a year of conventional therapy
achieve what has taken very few sessions. He has developed a way
of working with unresolved emotional or intrapsychic pain which is
truly amazing. I would recommend him unconditionally. The process
can be painful, but the pain resolves fairly rapidly and morphs into a
sense of freedom, centeredness and wholeness. I intend to study this
method to help my own clients.” – Eleanor W, M.A., Ed. S.,

Helped me manage work stress
“I contacted Dr. Peter Strong as a last option to try therapy to save my crumbling career. I was unable to build or sustain working relationships with co-workers and was perceived as ‘difficult to work with’ by many. I was having a hard time lasting in any job.
Working with Peter and learning his mindfulness techniques, I am able to see why I was going wrong. Further sessions helped me to learn how to handle daily events and cope with stress – turn from being reactive to responsive. I am much more in touch with myself and am not losing it over daily matters. Mindfulness therapy has helped me develop more awareness and this has brought so much ease in my relationships. My colleagues have started feeling comfortable working with me and I feel more capable of handling interactions at work. I SEE things clearly and know what to do without being reactive. As a bonus side effect, I also stopped binge eating due to extreme stress!
My family relationships have improved. The past aggravations, disappointments do not have the same impact on me. I feel calm, capable and ready to take on each day and handle what comes my way with awareness. I am very grateful to Peter for all his help.” – MJ, Project Manager, Software Engineer, Florida, USA.

Mindfulness therapy really helped me recover from depression
“My sessions with Peter have been transformational, I suffered with depression for many years, when my father passed away and I was very low I found Peter’s website, I had visited another therapist on one occasion, however I did not get a good empathetic feeling. I then contacted Peter and we started to have therapy sessions via Skype. Peter is kind, I have worked with my feelings and now have less Skype sessions than I initially needed, I am happily married and have a lovely dog and a beautiful home, none of this would have happened if I had not taken that big step and chosen to have therapy, it is a really hard step to take but it is the best thing I ever did, I would rather spend money on a session with Peter than buy a new top, although both if I can afford it! I see Peter less now, however if I do get a lull then Peter helps me to get back on my feet very quickly feeling alive and happy again, thank you Peter for all you have done for me.” – Gail, Brentwood, England.

Free from anxiety

Better than medications for my anxiety and depression
“I had suffered from anxiety and depression for a long time and have tried different things like seeing a psychologist, taking medicine, taking herbal medicine, exercises like yoga. But these things never worked for me because they never taught me how to actually think in a healthy way. With mindfulness therapy I was able to analyze my thoughts and make them into something organized and concrete. In this way I could better fully understand them and then let them pass on. I didn’t feel like my thoughts were stuck inside of me festering. I was no longer fighting with myself. It was refreshing to learn how to accept every part of myself. The positive thoughts as well as the negative thoughts. I really recommend this for everyone. You can really see the results quickly. I only wish that I had known about this earlier.” – Tokyo, Japan.

This teaching truly makes sense on such a spiritual level, I now know I am going to overcome this and am on the path to complete recovery. I am so grateful for finding Peter! Thank-you so much!” – Ontario, Canada.

Long time Medical Health Professional
“I am the Director of Behavioral Health Social Work Services for a major northeast hospital network and have been working with Dr. Strong via Skype for about six months. As a seasoned clinician and administrator who has both provided and been a consumer of therapeutic services over the course of decades, I was initially skeptical about whether Dr. Strong’s methods and his use of the internet as a medium would work for me. At this time of my life, when my wife and I are growing older and our children are beginning to pursue their own lives, I have been searching for a way to both adjust to and gain greater self-understanding and depth of the feelings that are emerging.” – New York.

Traditional psychotherapy didn’t help; this did
“Traditional psychotherapy seemed no longer to be the answer. Instead, Peter Strong has helped me to find new avenues, new paths and new awareness of feelings that run very deep and, in many cases, have been long dormant until re-awakened in this fascinating and energizing way. Peter is kind, understanding and a skilled guide in leading me along my personal journeys. He has introduced me to true and effective methods of mindfulness therapy, i.e. recognizing the thoughts and feelings that enter my consciousness, welcoming them and forming relationships with them, becoming aware of all of their sensory and visceral qualities and, in so doing, reaching resolution with all their positive and negative characteristics. His presence on the other side of my computer screen is very helpful but not at all overbearing, allowing me freedom in my own discovery process. I unreservedly recommend engaging Peter’s services in, what has been for me, an extremely effective method of learning about my inner self in ways that I’ve never been able to achieve before.” – New York, USA.

Better than anything for my OCD
“After 8 years, two therapists, many self-help books…..my hypochondria and OCD was worse than ever. I figured I would just have to live like this and deal with it. I put on a good show in front of people and cried alone. Then, I stumbled upon Peter’s website. I figured this was my last attempt. Peter is kind, understanding, and patient. He helped guide me out of the dark and see the light. He is truly there to help. He never looks at his time during sessions. I would have to remind him that time is up. His rates are reasonable so everyone cam get proper therapy. He gave me practical tools to use to overcome my anxiety. He is always available via email for advice. He truly cares about the progress of his patients. Peter changed my life and gave me the chance to enjoy my life again. I am eternally grateful to him.” – Linda, New York

This really helped me with my depression
“Before my sessions with Dr Peter Strong, I suffered from depression. No matter what I tried, I got nowhere. It was like running around in a circle, I felt trapped.
In the first session, I found out my main problem; resisting and avoiding emotions. A few sessions later, I clearly noticed the difference in me. By mindfully accepting negative feelings, they are released and eventually replaced by positive ones.
I am a happier person now and have achieved much more in life. Enjoying life to the fullest!
Thank you Peter..” – G., Yemen

Sessions with Peter healed my traumatic memories
“I had three sessions with Peter (4 hours total) and am very glad I had a chance to do therapy with him. Even after one session, I already felt better about some of the trauma I have had since I was young. With him, I learned to dissolve the trauma and came to terms with what happened in the past. I very much appreciate Peter’s kindness, wisdom, and patience.” Yurie, Germany

Working with Peter has been very effective for helping me overcome my emotional suffering
“Working with Peter and developing mindfulness has been instrumental in helping me break from my habitual mental suffering. His form of therapy is effective for many reasons, but primarily I think it’s because Peter works with you to help you discover the truth of your suffering for yourself, rather than judging you or telling you – his presence is always calm and kind, and provides a great atmosphere for healing.” Andrew, NY

Peter has helped me through two very challenging moments in my life
“The first time I contacted him I was struggling to get over a mountain of regret after turning down my dream job. The repetitive thought loop had been with me for a while and standard talking therapy had done nothing to shift the disappointment and self-reproach I was experiencing. Peter encouraged me to look at the decision as part of the flow of life and to stop taking so much personal responsibility for ‘getting it wrong’ (‘the decision made the decision, not you’). He didn’t spend time dwelling on the whys and wherefores of what happened but worked with me directly on the thinking pattern and the emotions it generated. We were physically able to ‘shrink’ the influence of the thoughts and the Vipassana practice he taught me became an invaluable life skill that I have continued to use.
The second time I contacted Peter was when my daughter hit the terrible twos. I was caring for her full time as a stay at home mum and had been practicing gentle parenting throughout that time, but I was finding this new phase of outright insubordination and extreme tantrums very difficult to deal with. I had let my vipassana practice slip and suddenly I found that the mounting frustration of it all was boiling over into a few temper tantrums of my own. In one session, Peter helped me clear through a lot of the rage I was bottling up and gave me practical advice on what a mindful approach to some of the scenarios I was facing might look like. He also put me back in touch with my Vipassana practice, which I have been consistent with since, and no further issues with anger.
The thing that distinguishes Peter’s approach from other forms of therapy is that the results are pretty much instant, but you are still working with your emotions at a very deep level (unlike, for example, CBT) so are able to create lasting change. You will also learn Vipassana practice from a leading expert and this is such a key life skill – I really wish that all of us were taught this at school. Peter is extremely knowledgeable on his core subject or mindfulness and also in Buddhism more generally and I found our discussions fascinating. Peter is also an ex scientist so there is nothing new age or flaky about him. He is an extremely practical person that focuses on techniques that are proven to actually work through real experience.
The path of mindfulness which Peter illuminates is not a quick fix to all life’s problems, and it does require dedication and self-discipline. I have found though that, no matter what life happens to throw at you, mindfulness practice creates a virtuous loop of compassion, wisdom and self-esteem as opposed to a viscous circle of emotional reactivity and its implications. I have recently completed reading Peter’s book and it’s a very helpful and practical guide to understanding and deepening mindfulness practice that I would highly recommend.” Lindsay, UK

These sessions helped me overcome my anxiety
“Dr. Strong helped me through the most difficult time of my life. I wasn’t able to leave the house for over five months due to crippling anxiety. Dr. Strong was able to help me welcome my anxiety and take care of it in order to heal it. I had always thought anxiety was something to push away and fear, but through meditation and welcoming my anxiety, I learned I can truly enjoy experiences that would otherwise trigger anxiety. Everything else I have tried has not come close to the healing and happiness I have experienced through Dr. Strong’s sessions. He is very kind and honest and I couldn’t have healed my anxiety without him. Every day is different, but even after ending our sessions, his counseling has proved invaluable. Thank you Dr. Strong!” Hunter, Colrado
